The way the right works is the more likely they think the nominee will be in a few years the more likely they are to wage a full throated effort to shape the thinking of the candidate with their social circles and eventually the wider public. The right wing is a well oiled machine and knows how to do this. In 2017 it was Steve Bannon who put Kamala Harris at the top of his list for people the Trump 2020 campaign and surrogate outlets needed to start trashing there in 2017. They thought she was more of a threat obviously than even Joe Biden and I think Biden securing the nomination sort of threw them off. It’s about telling people over and over how bad someone is and assuming that dumb Americans will just themselves assume that person is awful. It works well so we can all assume the more online activists and trolls talk about someone negatively that most people don’t know about outside of their district/state the more likely it is they see as a threat they need to shape the narrative around.

He'll get a lot of consideration if California doesn't implode from a debt crisis in the next 4 years. Cali's problems mostly stems from a lack of real governance and pretending they can solve everything with a firehouse of money then by taxing the rich more and issuing bonds for the remainder. So much money was frittered away in 22' 90 billion surplus that I doubt they realize how much was wasted. That hasn't worked when IPOs and mergers have died down since 2022 or growing trickle of rich moving to different states to avoid Cali's taxes. I hope the DNC changes enough to consider a guy like Fetterman, but how they all do in the ground is as important as the backroom deals to make each other's lives easier/harder. Warren was given a solid chance in 2020 but was too much of a bookish dork to connect to middle Americans or anyone outside of a college. At the height of her campaign, when people gave the attention she wanted, she fumbled by not giving solutions despite building herself up as an expert on those particular issues.
