They aren't punting on the season, its worse than that. They are playing this weird in between game where they don't want to go into a rebuild and want to stay competitive when the smart thing would be to trade Framber and get what you can for him as well since you aren't going to pay him either.

Save all that money to not make a competitive offer for Vlad Jr? Who else is in next year's free agent class?

Vlad reportedly turned down $340M from the Jays so that's for damn sure not happening

    That lineup is not scary.

In the playoffs it's even less scary since Judge turns into a pumpkin every year.

    Pena > Volpe
    Altuve > Chisholm
    Yordan > Judge
    Meyers < Bellinger
    McCormick ? Stanton
    Yainer > Wells
    Dezenzo ? Dominguez
    Paredes > Cabrera
    Singleton = Rice

They can't be done right? I thought Bellinger was for 1B but if not, still after Walker? Or if Bellinger is for 1B, move Judge back to CF, still could go after Santander.

Unless we are talking playoffs here, there's no way you can say Yordan is a better hitter than Judge right now.

    Lets see what happens tomorrow.

Bellinger can play CF and 1st so the Yankees getting him doesn’t clear up the 1st base log jam on the market… if the Yankees are putting Bellinger in CF, then the 1st base market will try to wait out the Yankees- especially Walker and Alonso, who want an extra year on their deals.

If Walker goes to NYY - then we will see Goldy and Diaz and others start signing or being dealt.

The Cards want Bregman to sign first so they can get a better deal with Arenado.

Weirdest things I heard today was that Burnes agent and Astros have talked. This is the third major free agent pitcher the Astros have at least kicked the tires on- they did on Snell and more so Fried.

Most interesting thing I heard was the Astros were exploring a way to add Arenado and Goldschmidt and then bounce around Paredes so that he played every game subbing for infield and outfield possibly.

Seems like Astros are confident they will fill their holes, but don’t know who they will get yet.

Bregman apparently has been very good at handling his free agency and still has feelings for the Astros. I don’t think that’s enough to turn down 30-50 million.

Would signing Burnes be so they can have a 1,2,3 of Him, Framber, and Brown? Insurance if they lose Valdez next year? Or trade Valdez for assets right now, have Burnes replace Valdez?

Also did I ask the same question when you brought up Snell/Fries weeks ago???

I’m still waiting for the first athlete (in history) to say he chose a Texas or Florida team mainly due to the lack of state income tax.

When you have FU money, plus most of your road games’ incomes are taxed anyways, you don’t fret over that.

Astros are done improving. Dodgers and Yankees make the WS and keep adding pieces. Astros have been declining for a few seasons now.

This is what happens when there is no pressure to win and be ruthless. When those teams (Yankees and Dodgers) are better than the Astros and advance further in the playoffs, it's not a surprise. It's expected. We aren't winning another championship. Why even watch the team unless we are competing for a ring or building towards it. We are in a decline, that's it

Not to mention the property taxes on their mansions here are way higher than other states.

Lmao yeah why watch a team that has won 5 straight division titles. It’s like some of you started watching this team after 2017 and don’t know what it’s like to actually never see your team win anything.

    **** right on off buddy
