People want the 102 defensive rating and to shoot 57%. at 22 smh. He is not there yet. Let him keep adapting to his new responsibilities. There is a reason why the Lukas, Traes and Hardens take naps on the other end.
He will put it all together. Then he will be a monster. But of course we are impatient, as fans. It's kind of frustrating to see him miss shots he used to make in his sleep.
honestly I think the overall effort asked by udoka on d might be a little too much for Sengun. He is the focus of offense and defense, has to be physical all the time and has to move a lot. That might be one factor behind his struggles.
Prime Harden was better than Luka and Trae combined. Sengun just needs to develop an outside shot. If all they have to do is deny him post entry passed and swarm when he tries a face up dribble then it's irrelevant. He's not big enough to play like Jokic. He needs to be a jumbo Ginobili if he ever wants to reach superstar status. I'm cool with sacrificing some Ws for him (and others) to develop parts of their game that will matter when we're actually contenders. I've kinda seen all I need to see this year. Focus on the development of Sengun, Jabari, Reed and Amen. Then whoever is left after that is fine by me.
They should give the green light to 43% 3FG Jabari and 39% 3FG Amen (in the last 15 games) let it fly from the three https://www.nba.com/stats/players/traditional?LastNGames=15&TeamID=1610612745&dir=A&sort=FG3_PCT
Relax. As far as Sengun is concerned this is abnormal. We are less than a third through the season. With him it is almost certainly an anomaly.
He is used like Ben Wallace but lo behold if Atkinson and Kerr get their mitts on Sengün. Too bad he is not on Team US.......get that neutralization going! Better than Embiid. Put a ring on Hannah Cherry and if she is US citizen, they can make it work.
