Gas prices in Texas, under Trump, were 1.97 for one MONTH, during Trump's term, excluding COVID. Every other month they were over 2 dollars.
Really? based on what? Come on man, use common sense. You don't put oligarchs in charge of gov't contracts and business oversight unless you want to help them get richer. Plus Elon's wealth is in stock.
i got some of the stocks associated with these guys. This is good for a lot of the companies they invest in, and obviously Uber/Lyft, as well as crypto of course. Makes sense. Basically we all know where to put our money now haha.
Elon Musk: the ‘wild card’ in Trump’s dealings with China Tesla has received billions of dollars in cheap loans, subsidies and tax breaks from the Chinese government. The carmaker is highly dependent on its Shanghai factory, the biggest in its global network, for not only selling to the country of 1.4bn people but also exporting its China-made cars to other parts of the world. Musk’s Chinese suppliers, especially in batteries, are also crucial to the company’s global manufacturing operations, including in the US.
Five years ago, Musk secured funding for what was at the time Tesla’s most ambitious project, a factory building electric vehicles in a special free trade zone on Shanghai’s eastern outskirts. Over the past five years, Tesla’s global operations have deepened their reliance on Chinese suppliers, whose scale, efficiency and levels of automation have become world-leading. With Trump warning of massive tariffs against imports from Mexico and all of America’s trading partners, Musk has already moved quickly to protect Tesla by ramping up production in the US and pausing plans to build a factory in Mexico, which would partly make cars for the US market. But even then his company remains deeply exposed to American protectionism. An executive at a rival automaker adds: “Tesla is hugely dependent on China for profitability and Musk has direct contact with the CCP leadership. It’s inevitable that he will be a piece of the puzzle.”
Maybe it's been pointed out somewhere in the last 9 pages. But, DOGE would not be a government agency. They would be, effectively, a thinktank like the Heritage Foundation that writes big reports and gives advice to Trump Admin people and to Congress. Then, Trump or Congress can choose to try to enact their suggestions in policy or ignore it. DOGE has no power apart from the wisdom of their ideas and from leveraging public pressure via the media to bully politicians into pretending their ideas are wise. I see some lazy writing in the media that DOGE might cut this department, or change that budget -- but they can't do **** except write reports and get on television. I'm sure they're going to be players for the next couple of years, but they only have soft power.
I still find these numbers a bit hard to believe Only 6% of federal workers show up in person on a full-time basis, scathing Senate report reveals https://nypost.com/2024/12/05/us-ne...ll-time-basis-scathing-senate-report-reveals/
I know this is fake, but imagine if Elon owned Charmin, Oh BTW all single ply toilet paper only serves to increase the amount of paper used. Instead of the three-fold method, folks go immediately to the "Wad" of TP.
I vaguely remember Andressan crying to Rogan about the FTC looking into a shady fintech he invested in and started making up lies about them taking away freedoms. Ofc Rogan has no idea about the context or details of that particular dealing and lets him paint a picture opposite of reality. A16z looking for big dividends in Trump Inc...
I find that hard to believe, but who knows. I'm actually amazed that corporate America hasn't embraced the lower overhead of working from home and are seeking people back in the office.
