had Bloss remained in AA all year, he would have undoubtedly been a top 75 prospect this off-season the way he was pitching. Lopeffido stays in AAA, probably a top 100 on some lists the way he was hitting
Regardless of what the guys turn into, they would have been highly rated prospects given better timing and more time in the minors.

Are we at least getting the prospect with the higher upside? (In this scenario, Cam Smith over Shaw)

Which is why Tucker should have been gone last off-season. At least they are righti g the wrong presumably now before we lose him with nothing to show.

Smith instantly becomes the #1 prospect in the system.

On field, 3 years of Paredes is likely as valuable as 1 year of Tucker

The difference, the Astros expect to compete in 2025 and those two probably net a minus 2-3 wins.

The value is +2-3 wins each of 2026 and 2027.

Debatable. Both are excellent prospects. Shaw is closer to the majors.

That's it for potentially resigning Bregman than... already have his replacement if trade is complete. Who's taking RF?

The Soto deal had Michael King, who was less valuable than Paredes based on control and performance, and one top 100 prospect that wasn't near as good as Cam Smith IMO. What else was so great about that package?

And regardless, Soto is the superior player and the Yankees assumed they were resigning him, something the Cubs aren't doing with Tucker. The Astros were never going to get two 3.5+ WAR players under multiple years of control AND a top prospect for Tucker.

I do agree with Buck though...we hopefully should get some lotto ticket prospects along with Paredes and Smith.

Whoever they trade Framber for, hopefully Kjerstad from the Orioles.

Can play corner IF tomorrow. Stros are a bit deficient in that regard.

Loperfido is going to be 26 years old in May. He was never entering the top 100 prospects by staying in AAA.

Sure but Paredes is by far the superior player with more club control. If they really offered Bohm and Castellanos, a negative asset making $20M and might be the worst defensive OF in baseball, then clearly they think way too much of Bohm.

Looks like a MLB SP in the Tucker return.

Now is time to trade Framber for OF help - Boston?
