Lord what I wouldn't give for Jalen to not be durable.

Guess dude watched the game with his eyes closed the majority of the night.

Exactly how many times did people blow by Jalen in this game?

Way, way too many too count.

Guess he missed that time in the first half Jalen lost his assignment who was standing next to the rim for several seconds uncontested - and then grabbed the offensive rebound because Jalen was out of position to box him out.

I don't honestly know how he wasn't benched the rest of the game after the first 6 minutes of this game, he was utterly atrocious.

Where's the goalpost at now? Let me see. Has as many turnovers as FG made (and one of his blatant turnovers somehow wasn't counted in the first quarter), but dived on the ball at the very end and made two free throws so his absolutely putrid game is forgiven.

Imagine giving $100,000,000 to a player who is so abysmal his fans have to change the criteria for what is acceptable, based on what minimal things Jalen does game to game.

And by game to game we all know that means game to game against bad teams. Because it's no coincidence those pathetic games come against teams who are semi-competent.

I personally think you're overextending too far into appeasing the Jalen fans with this comment.

He was putrid for 95% of this game, and that might honestly be kind to him.

Yes, but my memory is short, and I was happy about the end result.

Wow, nice. Wishing a Rockets player - a 22 year old kid btw - got injured more often.

    Stay classy.

agree wishing for a player to get injured is not classy

getting excited/looking forward for a player to be unavailable for a game not classy as well

It's like the KPJ experiment all over again, except that Jalen isn't such a terrible human being and is a decent teammate. And we have people trying to excuse Jalen's bad play just like with KPJ.. except now we are winning and actually trying to win so Jalen's mishaps on the court are even more magnified than KPJ.

No one is excusing green's poor performance, its folks pointing out the hypocrisy. Take this game for example, the starters not just green were turning over the ball like crazy. FVV is paid more and you can not say he played like a 40 million player. Meanwhile green is only paid 12 mil this season, but folks are judging him on the standard that's he already getting paid max player money. I think it's more warrant to b triggered when he's underperforming next season while getting paid 33 mil.

We are winning and green is making winning play, folks just can't stomach that. hell folks cant even acknowledge that we won b/c of green, folks were rather move the goal post and make hypotheticals.

We are judging him on the standards of being picked 2nd Overall at the Draft. How is that?

No hypotheticals about the position he was drafted other than him being overhyped.

Who isn’t acknowledging the bad? You guys tend to grit your teeth anytime something positive about Jalen gets celebrated. It always comes with a because/or/if attached. There are no “Stan’s” arguing with stats in hand. There is still an argument for intangibles and skill set advantages a guy like him offers.

Be genuinely happy for him every once in a while and I bet it has a positive impact in your life. He didn’t have a great game last night, but was instrumental in the win. Both things can be true and easy to acknowledge for both sides of the coin as you keep harping on, but cant seem to demonstrate.

Of course not - why would anyone celebrate a loss? We arent tanking anymore. Thats why this whole hyper sensitive thing with Jalen is so ridiculous at times. Nobody else on this team is held to the same regard while also enjoying top draft slot expectations. All these other guys get olive branches cut down for them, but since day 1 Jalen has been accosted by the same clique who cant even say he had a good 10 seconds to help the team win a game. It all boils down to rankings, salary presumptions and fan fiction for half and half ass fans who want to chalk up an ego win.

I brought it up last season when Sengun had better efficiency, but still less
than the average Center and it was pooh-poohed.

Doesn't fit their narrative of, "hate Jalen"

Putting Sengun more as hub of the offense near the free throw line and
less time in the "Dunker Spot" has decreased his FG%.

I don't cling to the stats for either one of them (Jalen/Green). Just win baby.

People don't understand the pressure it took to hit those last 2 free throws. The ability to win or lose a game in your hands, to beat a team you hadn't beat since before Covid.

Remember the GREATEST shooter of all time by many, Steph Curry, missed a free throw during the game.....its not easy.

Is Jalen perfect, no! Is anyone on this team, no! All of the youngsters are a work in progress but they are 2nd in the West!!

Its too muddled to try and compare a 7 foot player who thrives within 5 feet of the rim to a freedom of movement guard. Those shots are easier. Its HARD to make 3's at a high clip in the NBA there is a reason certain guys cant do it. There is a reason certain guys cant break multiple lines of defense or operate from any level on the floor. Efficiency is AWESOME -- it can grant the eye test the validation it seeks. When people use ONLY stats to paint their narrative they thumb their nose at all the plays that dont show up on a boxscore.

The craziest thing to hear is that when he puts it together for a stretch they recognize the importance of that type of player. They see that if he is on there isnt much a defense can do. It would be rad if he was a walking HOF player every night, but the reality is that he's not and thats ok, but the ego of the Junior GM who thinks he knows what wins games in the NBA will never not give me a chuckle. "he belongs in China .. He wont get the bag ... He wont make an allstar team .. He wont help us win ... He's too girly ... He's too stupid ... He's too soft" etc.. etc... I struggle to find another player in our HISTORY that has been treated with this level of disrespect.

Jalen's FT% definitely gives me hope the jumper will eventually come around. I'm still in the delusional thinking that gaining some more weight will help keep him more grounded on all his jumpers. Still too much spring in it to be consistent.

Jalen just needs to be focused on working on his shot and staying extremely physical on drives.

There are times when he attacks the rim with force that he is unstoppable and great things tend to happen.

    He is oh so close.

Wish he had more D Wade then Jamal Crawford in his game.

It's not only the free throws. Diving on the floor, getting the call (would Dillon get the call?), and capitalizing both shots. Great job, got us the win at the end. Jalen didn't provide this much joy ever. Forever grateful.

People (including myself) are frustrated with him because we desperately need scoring. And he doesn't gets us buckets on an efficient and consistent level we need him to right now. It's his job as he takes the most shots for the last 2 years, right? Fanbase isn't this hypersensitive over Jabari cause he doesn't take 15+ FGA on avg.

Jalen was a constant disappointment (extract March) last year. This year he won us several games. I'll take it as W for now.

but if he gains more weight his greatest strengths - speed and hops might suffer
