Most likely sell off McCormick, Myers and Start Call-ups from the Minors.

 

Depends on what they get back in a trade.

Of course I would always be willing to sell off Meyers and to a lesser extent Chas.

I do think it would be awesome if there was a 1 week window for free agency and a 1 week window for offseason trades.

 

I’d much rather have the Cubs deal if it really included Shaw.

Even before they lost Bregman and Tucker, they barely made the playoffs at all. Once the fire sale starts, I expect it to continue until everything of value is gone. There's no point in being a mediocre non playoff team.

Pena is a solid 3 WAR player. Those don’t grow on trees. They aren’t going to have a fire sale. Look at the Padres…they traded Juan Soto and got better. We can absolutely keep this run going if they make the right Tucker deal.

As long as they've got pitching they have a chance to be a contender. The reason that I'm not that upset about Tucker being moved is the team played better without him last year than with him.

 

Maybe they'll try that for a season or partial season, but given that the owner has no intention whatsoever to sign any top players...even the ones already on the roster, the only option is to go young again with a fire sale or be stuck in mediocrity as one by one they all leave to get paid elsewhere.

The leaks to Chandler, the tweets about the "young guns," Dana's vague comments....the org is priming the fan base for Tucker and Valdez to be traded.

 

The owner has made the right calls on letting guys go so far. What makes Bregs situation different?
