If Crane is willing to spend the money, I am fine with Correa especially if the Astros keep Tucker. I'd think the Astros would trade Pena for a 3B (or to Twins if they need a SS after trading Correa).

Put a Juicy Lucy on Brown's desk while having the conversation.
A little light prince music playing in the background.
    And then BANG!!!
Vince Vaughan appears from behind a partition with a fried pork chop on a stick.

    All "Minnesota Nice" things.

    https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5984497/2024/12/10/max-fried-free-agency-yankees-red-sox-blue-jays/

The Max Fried sweepstakes appear set to conclude with an AL East tug of war between the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays.

Fried, the top remaining left-handed starter on the free-agent market, is expected to choose his next team by Thursday, according to major-league sources briefed on the negotiations.

Corbin Burnes, the top free-agent right-handed starter, is believed to be generating interest among the same three AL East clubs, and perhaps the San Francisco Giants and other teams.

The Texas Rangers also remain in the mix for Fried, but it is unclear whether they can invest heavily in a free agent while awaiting clarity on their future local media revenue.

The Yankees, considering a wide variety of rotation, bullpen and lineup options after losing the bidding for free-agent outfielder Juan Soto to the New York Mets, are “all over” Fried, according to one source with knowledge of their discussions. The Blue Jays, who remain desperate to make a splash, and Red Sox, who are in dire need of a left-handed starter, also were shut out on Soto.

Some club officials with East Coast teams fear that Fried, a native of Southern California, would prefer to sign with a team out west. But of the potential bidders, the Giants are not among the finalists for him, league sources said. Nor are the Los Angeles Angels, who occasionally are a wild card under owner Arte Moreno.

Really? Idk why I remember him as not performing well. I'm not trying to put him down. I wish we could keep him. It's really annoying all are homegrown stars keep leaving.

I was for making another run and I think with a few tweaks they could win another championship next year whether Bregs comes back or not. But after looking at this I'm on board with trading for top tier prospects and being players in the 2025 fa market, although I've got no idea what the 2025 fa market looks like.

I don't really like the Yankees prospects. But there are much more knowledgeable posters than myself when it comes to this subject than me on this topic. I would love for y'all to weigh in on this.

Why do fans grow in love with homegrown stars? This is really about getting young talent back in trades and being players in the 2025 fa market. Or making another run this year.

I'm open to either way of thinking, but I want Dana to make the decisions on trading for talent and the 2025 fa market.

If healthy he would be a great pickup. Do I trust that he's healthy? Not so much.

If we can add some of our bad contracts to a Tucker trade to free up enough to sign both Framber and Bregs, I am down. We need to be able to matchup with Fried and Cole and Framber fits if we can get a small discount with one year left on his contract.
