If Jalen stopped taking end of qtr 3s and end up shot clock 3s - his % would be more than acceptable - he took 2/3 last game and finished 5/13 .. but he’s our only option to take those shots lol

I still want him to develop a floater (drastically)

Those are the only ones I feel like he makes. He misses all the easy ones and somehow manages to make the most difficult shots. Like the one at the end of shot clock to basically ice the game versus clippers.

He's been going to the line more recently which is exactly how he should play. Taking jumpers should only be a counter for when the defense sags off. Otherwise kickout/pass. They should really simplify the f*ck out of his shot selection. 4-5 3PA per game maximum, almost no mid range.

He’s not great from the break - but top of key and corners he shoots good enough when open - but folks complain about his % then don’t take in account he shoots all the end of qtr / clock 3s which = 3-4 extra 3s a game

Jalen is 6/23=26.1% on 3 point attempts with 4 seconds or less on the shot clock this season.

Jalen Green's improvement in multiple areas of his game since last year, particularly on-ball and help defense, is remarkable. If you had told me he was capable of a leap like that, I would not have believed you. I was disgusted and ready to give up on him.

I'm not gonna bet against him making more improvements in the next couple of years. It may not happen. But he has earned the right to show what else he can do.

For example: Right now, as some of you have mentioned, he's the bailout guy at the end of the clock. He takes some bad 3s because has to. He also takes some bad 3s early in the clock because he feels like it. Let's see how those numbers evolve. If he cuts down on the ill-considered early 3s and continues to improve as a passer, a lot of the grumbling on this board will settle down.

Probably close to his normal step back 3.

It would, but by less than 1%, he would go from 32.8 to 33.7. Also, not all of those 23 are necessarily bad shots, some are likely open catch and shoots and stuff like that.

You said 3-4 extra 3s per game. It’s not even close to that.

So 26 of his 189 3 PT attempts were with 4 seconds or less on the shot clock? What about the other 163 shot attempts?

It depends on if he’s in the game and if we have the ball to end the qtr

    last game he took 3

    game before he took 1

so yes it will average out by end of season

hard to judge it like that in my eyes, last game he took 3 and was 5/13 from 3 … we know he made 1 of 3 … so 5/11 looks a lot better than 5/13 or get rid of all 3 of them and he’s 4/10 and people will go nuts over 40%

‘The math isn’t that hard. There’s only 4 quarters in a game. Hes taken a total of 23 late in the shot clock 3s over 24 games. He doesn’t take an end of quarter bad 3 every single quarter of every single game.

There's no world where it’s going to eventually average out to 3-4 extra 3s per game on late shot clock/end of quarter “heaves”

Every player takes shots that are not ideal. Even if you took away all 23 of those shots, his % would still be horrid. Those 1/3 he made that you think were bad is better then his season shooting %

Watch the game - like I said sometimes it’s the 2 for 1 shots .. sometimes he’s not in the game so you cant say every game … I’m not proclaiming him to be a 38%+ shooter but if he was like KD and just didn’t attempt those shots at all

This season 0-4 seconds left on shot clock 3pt% avg more than 1.0 attempt - look at his %
