it is games like last night that make me believe in the value of the three-year extension that we gave him. He might not fulfill his immense promise and potential but there is something very unique about his abilities. And I still think that the arc and trajectory are upward it’s just slow going.
It's pretty simple. Teams that can contain Jalen's dribble penetration = Jalen bad unless Jalen is hot from three Teams that can't contain Jalen's dribble penetration = Jalen good, especially so if he is hot from three. Jalen isn't elite at penetration, so teams can successfully defend him. It's not like he's Morant who lives in the paint regardless of good defenses or not.
Jalen need lanes to be able to penetrate and last night they were open, largely because FVV wasn't playing the PNR
Fred's pnr is largely why we are where we are. Jalen isnt a winning player lanes or not. Also its funny how when fred is on the bench some how in other games those lanes are closed. you are delusional. you need to stop blaming other players for jalen being inconsistent.
