So I really wonder what’s the deal, it seems we officially changed it to the R inside of a planet with the orb around it, yet both our R logo and the planet are being used interchangeably and kind of random. Depending on which website you look, you can find either one as if both are our main ones. It’s kind of confusing. I actually don’t mind the R being part of something bigger, though a bit more creativity and an actual rebrand, which makes it clear this is our new logo would help and would’ve helped. Would be cool if they at least could do the logo at center court so it’s clear this is the new main one, if it is in fact our main logo since I still don’t know.

Any thoughts or clarification what in the world we’re doing?

I find the R boring in comparison to most NBA logos.

Just feels boring seeing the letter R instead of an actual object themed around Rockets.

You know what’s boring? The most iconic logos in sports. The Lakers…yawn. The Cowboys…yawn. The Yankees…yawn. The Red Sox…yawn. These are among the most valuable franchises in all of sports.

Lean into boring…lean into nostalgia. That’s all intellectual property is in pro sports…connection to heartstrings. As Jerry Seinfeld once said, “we’re all just rooting for laundry.”

This franchise has an amazing history…and it’s mostly caught up in ketchup and mustard and that old logo. That is an identity worth building around because it connects to the best moments in franchise history. Parades…Richmond Avenue celebrations…lean into that ****.

If you like pinstripes and dinosaurs that’s totally sweet, but those franchises are nowhere near the ones I mentioned above. As we all learned from Full House….”whatever happened to predictability?” Think on that one, gents. Ponder. Ketchup and Mustard. Always your friends

And whatever happened to the Dunkstronaut?
Are the Rockets even listening to the people?

    Both are terrible.

Dripping “R”/blood/paint (rocket blasting off) from the Yao era.
And that other thing is just atrocious.

    67-71: San Diego Rockets
    — White/Green/Yellow
    71-25: Houston Rockets
    — 71-95: White/Red/Yellow (“ketchup & mustard”)
    — 95-03: White/Red/Blue (“pinstripe pajamas”)
    — 03-25: White/Red
—— 16: incorporated a black jersey (black is now seemingly a primary color)

    67-71 | 71-72 | 72-95 | 95-03 | 03-19 | 19-25

Hell, color update the old logo like you did a few years ago.
    And of course the Dunkstronaut.

Hawks, Pistons, Warriors, Timberwolves, Sixers, Kings, Jazz have all gone back to some semblance of their previous logos. Clippers entirely new logo. Why can’t we?

We need a more modern logo that better fits our current team and vision.....

Dunkstronaut is fun. It's like an upgraded Turbo. That totally works alongside the iconic logo.

I think the Rockets R looks relatively fine, they should beef up the font a little bit to make it look more aggressive. The grey circle patch is truly awful, in an almost unbelievable fashion.

I also think an updated "pinstripe era" logo without the blue color, and with a less stupid looking Rocket, could look pretty good.

The melty drippy bottom of the R is turds. That needs to go away right now. It sucks.
