I was also surprised. But, I won't say it's a stitch-up. He looks like a plausible match for the photos. It could be that he didn't feel like he yet arrived at a place of safety, so he still needed his assassin's tools. He did a pretty good job, but I'm not surprised he slipped up and got caught in the end.

Discovery will certainly be something and we'll see what he wants the insurance companies to talk about in court.

none of those were a situation where a someone was just walking around minding their business and then got capped in public in a no doubt about it intentional murder…the assassin can’t make a self-defense or “I didn’t mean to” claim

    Damn.

26 years old, Penn grad (or at least attendee) in CS.... whole world at his finger tips and now its all gone.

After 5 days, and given his intelligence and the fact he likely had made some decent money in this world, I would expect this dude to be somewhere abroad or in a preplanned hideout.

Getting nabbed by a geezer in a Pennsyltucky McDonalds is anti-climatic.

If he was really trying to seriously evade authorities at all that is.

I am looking forward to the posts saying this guy was a liberal, so all of liberaldom is now responsible for the murder he executed.

 Trayvon Martin was minding his own business when Zimmerman started stalking him. Arbery was another guy minding his own business and got murdered by a couple of people who were briefly celebrated by the right until they were convicted.

I strongly disagree that most Americans feel little empathy for a murdered father of 2 kids. Your comments here are incredibly disturbing.

Extremists exposing themselves is something to see.

The guy rails against capitalism and corporate profits... then gets busted while eating at a MCDONALDS. Make it make sense.

Climate change activist and anti-capitalist. Eating at MCDONALDS.

I odn't think people realize this is par for the course for NYPD - it ain't Law & Order it's more like Reno 911.

Actually people do worship billionaires and even millionaires in this country. Look at the diddy parties.

People worship the wealthy in this country far above anything else.

My Dad is actually one of those people. He would probably think the United CEO was a fine respectable and successful person. Just like I’m sure friends and family of that guy thought he was a huge big shot. I’m sure he was treated like a big shot everywhere he went, even at thanksgiving dinner. In reality, he was a super scum bag who denied the basic right of life to many wonderful people who deserved to live.

People see his mansions and cars and they don’t care how he got it, they will kiss his ass.

I'm sorry is your ability to have a more fulfilling life by having a knee replacement surgery approved so you can enjoy things like... Walking down the stairs more important than a bunch of MBA frat bros skimming billions of dollars from insurance pools
Yahya Sinwar had three children. How many people did you chastise for celebrating his death?

Brian Thompson killed more Americans by a magnitude of 1000 so are you anti-american?

Zimmerman was able to make a self-defense claim in court

    Arbery’s murderers were convicted

here we have somebody walking up to another person and shooting them 3 times all caught on camera after planning the whole thing for awhile

my initial post isn’t even about what right wing dipsh*ts might be saying anyways, I’m talking about a jury when I see people online talking about “jury nullification” or “good luck finding 12 people who would convict” this assassination…he got turned in by some random civilian at McDonald’s

There is some truth to this for sure but I think its a little more complicated than that and I am saying that it is changing.

Right now, people LOVE to see these people fall. Even a random accusation with no evidence can bring them down because people are rooting for the downfalls now.

I'm not counting people that know him, of course those who work for him, know him, probably worship him. They do so because they hope it will benefit them in some way, that is normal behavior, but everyone else? Well, we see the reaction.

And again it does depend on what people do. Like I'm sure many people 'hate' Taylor Swift. Hell, many people here 'hate' Stephen Curry, but that isn't actual hate. If Curry was killed tomorrow you can rest assured it would be a national mourning for most (basically all) of the country and people would be ready to put his killer under the prison. The difference is Curry nailing threes to end your favorite teams championship dreams is at most highly annoying...a health insurance company that denies a loved one care they desperately need is traumatic and life changing.

So yes, some of the wealthy are worshipped, but i think CEOs in particular and multi billionaires entrepreneurs are not liked very much and when their time comes it will be met with indifference and some, depending on the industry they worked in, some will get people celebrating their deaths.

But even celebrity worship is falling apart now, people are just tired. But I'm guessing your dad is a lot older and part of a time when yeah, we used to really worship the successful but I think things are definitely going the other way.

The CEO clearly lacks a moral compass. He didn't lose sleep over denying millions of people health care. Millions of people aren't losing sleep over his death. An eye for an eye.

Too bad he didn't have a car or he could have used the drive-thru. ;)
