    Not only not the best, but the worst President of all time. Switched the US from federalism to central control, established the massive federal government model.

    Threads have made me reflect on how the party cultures have a different approach to their heritages. Republicans lean into it: 'the party of Lincoln' or 'the party of Reagan.' The Democrats have their luminaries, with FDR probably being foremost, but they don't usually harken back to old leaders to be the model for what it means to be a Democrat.

    and the state's intrusion into the lives of private citizens with whose politics it disagrees.
