Sengun 1st, FVV 2nd, jabari, dillon, jalen. If you could amen and tari, amen is 2nd and tari is 4th. If you "credit" jalen for winning 5 games (whatever the hell that means), then you have to blame him for sucking in almost every game this season.

You don't give Jalen credit for caring the team the first 5 - 6 games of the yr? What about the Philly game recently?

The philly game was great, but that was one of the worst teams in the league. He was great in that game, it was by far his best game all season. His 1st 5 games he was also good, nothing special but good (especially for him). Since then though, the 18 games since, he's been overall HORRIFIC.

So by your account he carried the team in 6 of their first 23 games, correct? I would say the same for Sengun, he carried the team in 5 or 6 games.

The rest was a team effort and/or a combination of FVV, Jabari, Brooks and the bench

Those stats can be misleading. Our starting 5 doesn't play fast at all, especially with FVV. The Rockets are a better team when we push the pace & more unpredictable. This is fact

No absolutely not. First of all it was 5 games, his 6th game was when he started to be horrific. He was also only decent in 3 of those 5 games. He has truly carried us in one game, the philly game. Sengun was way better in one of those 5 games, and equal in 2 others. Jalen did have 2 games where he was better though. If you like bball reference gamescore, alpi has 11 games of 19+, jalen has 4 games. Alpi has 2 games of sub 9 (one of which was 8.9), jalen has ELEVEN (though 2 happen to be 8.9).

What you are saying is more correlation than causation. When you beat up on a team you tend to get more transition buckets due to more steals and more of their misses.

There's a reason why no one goes with Mike D'Antoni's 7 seconds or less gimmick... and why it was never really successful for him.

In the NBA if you can't play against a set defense, you can't play. It's not a problem for anyone on the team except Jalen because he has no basketball skills.

    Ok, to clarify

Game 1 vs Hornets - loss, Jalen was the leading scorer w/28. He brought us back in the 4th but we still lost

Game 2 vs Memphis - win, leading scorer was Jalen

Game 3 vs Spurs - loss, leading scorer was Jalen. He brought us back in the 4th Qtr after being down big, nearly won

Game 4 vs Spurs - win, leading scorer was Jalen. He had 36

Game 5 vs Dal - win, leading scorer was Jalen

So the first 5 games and the game against Philly he carried the Rockets

Philly game - he was amazing, no argument on that one. Best game of the season.

Games 1 and 3 were losses so he didn't carry anything, since we lost
Game 2 he was mediocre at best, 22 pts on 24 attempts (21 shots plus 6 free throws), which is very poor.
Game 4: he was very good
Game 5: 23 points on 22 attempts and 5 turnovers. Not very good but not terrible.

Scoring 22, 23, points when you're using up over 20 possessions is not good at all. If our overall offense performed like that, we'd be a 20 win team for the season.

So, you're saying because he wasn't efficient but we got the win, it was a bad game?

I'm always happy with a WIN, no matter how we get it. But also he played well and carried us against Wash, Clippers too.

So, putting him as the worst player in the starting unit just does not hold weight....you must admit?

Jalen is a front runner, when he gets challenged he backs down.....the Rockets would get better if he weren't on the team.

He sucked in those games, what are you talking about? He sucked in both clips games and against wash. To me, there's no argument that jalen has been better than alpi, fvv, and jabari, absolutely none. The only argument is Dillon. The advanced stats tell you jalen is better then dillon, and i can probably be convinced because of how little i think of dillon personally. I do think objectively though, brooks has been better this season.

Hmmmm! Not better than FVV and Jabari? I think you're bias. And how did he suck.in those games when he was the leading scorer and we won?

What about the other players who didn’t play well against the Warriors or is it just Jalen?

We are a really good defensive team. Teams we play against use a lot of the shot clock on possessions trying to get better shots. That actually slows down OUR pace because it’s less possessions overall. Despite that we’re still 11th in pace.

He's nowhere near the class of FVV, those are completely different levels. Jabari has been better also. I will admit my bias towards brooks, i always hated him and i still hate how he plays. I have absolutely nothing against Jalen, i LOVED him as a prospect, was thrilled we drafted him, and after his rookie season thought he was gonna be a STAR. As we get more data though, it's crazy to just ignore it in my opinion like you have. We won both clips games. One of them he was 4-11 with 3 turnovers and scored 8 points. The other he was 7-21 and scored 21 points, plus 3 turnovers and was a -10 in the game. Which of those 2 games would you say jalen "carried" the team?

Crazy stat - he has 4 games where he's made half his shots or more, and 6 games where he made 40% or less.

Certainly seems like Verbal and Chowd have given up on defending him. Still some holding out hope. Who knows Jalen could still shock the world. Not betting on it though.
