Trump taps Paul Atkins to lead SEC, signaling shift on crypto regulation The move underscores how much influence cryptocurrency backers will have in Trump’s second administration. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2024/12/04/paul-atkins-donald-trump-sec/
Looks at cabinet appointments and knows that isn't true. It's also how money buys government influence. Dude is smart, qualified, and talented. But being wealthy is what got him here (which don't get me wrong, he earned that wealth).
You know what I dislike about you, that you are disingenuous. I know you know damn well that some of these Trump picks are off the wall. Don't give me this meritocracy BS when you know it isn't true. Maybe you just enjoy trolling.
Do you disagree Issacson is a good selection? Or should someone who belongs to the establishment be selected?
I am specifically speaking of Issacman. I haven't commented on other nominations and I am unfamiliar with most of them to provide an objective option.
Do you know anything about the man? Or are you just assuming every position is bought and paid for that is commonly found in almost every administration. Again, meritocracy.
You could argue that every damn politician in DC hasn't earned their position if you wanted. I'm a Conservative dude, and his pics have been meh. Like a few, dislike others. Bondi being one, a lot of anti 2a stuff in her past that makes me not like that pick(one example).
I know he's a high school dropout and that he's filthy rich, believes Trump will benefit crypto and what may or may not be his struggling company, that he's purchased more than a couple rides aboard his pal Elon's SpaceX rockets... and that that last part makes you more than likely to take a bullet for the man. I will say, I'm glad he's at least a space enthusiast.
I will just say that there is a difference between picks that I disagree with politically and picks which are unqualified. Several of the picks have little to no experience in the field. Others have never been in charge of an operation or running an organization. Those picks regardless of whether or not I disagree with their political positions aren't qualified. As an example, I don't like Rubio's politics and many of his positions. However, he's sat on Seante committees run large organizations related to the the field, so as much as I wish there was someone else picked, I won't argue that he's unqualified. The distinction between disagreement and not being qualified is where I have the biggest concerns.
Fair points. My opinion would be different, in that I'm sick of the lifelong/career politicians on both sides. They can have every qualification that makes them a qualified pick, but if their past is sketchy on issues that are important to me, I'm not going to care at this point. But your take is solid and I don't really disagree with someone having that view.
Soldier’s soldier? LOL No - even his own mother is ashamed of him…. But if my son were a rapist, I would be ashamed as well.

Watch the netflix show about Inspiration 4. I am not claiming Issacman is a complete saint, however he isn't a complete douchebag. Side note - My profile picture is from the inspiration 4 launch taken from my back yard.
