No one is actually surprised by this, are they? Did anyone actually buy the Biden fanfiction and think he would never do something like this? It's not a big deal. I only wish he came out with a statement more like "It's my son; everyone else would have done the same" because that's at least not a lie.

The pardoning should have been abolished decades ago, the power of a President weakened. One Controversy less is one controversy less.
I'm not saying it's good; I'm just saying it's not surprising. Presidential pardons shouldn't even be a thing. But as long as it is a thing, Presidents will use them to help out the politically-connected. The idea that Biden was just going to sit back and let his son face the consequences of his actions was ridiculous.
