Hiroshima Japan disagrees. Either he’s lying or he’s literally Sabre rattling by threatening nuclear war. Something a US president has never done before and usually reserved for tyrants such as Vladimir Putin or Iran.
it just proves that the people hate the jews cause they are evil. Israel should just destroy their enemies til they have no enemies
The people that talk about being against the killing of civilians while supporting the people that literally went to a music festival and massacred unarmed civilians with no military objective are for killing civilians, yes. So long as they are the Israeli civilians. I will never understand the people who can't grasp the difference between civilians being killed as a result of attacking military targets which are intentionally embedded in the civilian population and civilians being killed intentionally as the very target of the attack.
Just because someone is against the killing of Gazans doesn't mean they are ok with the killing of Israelis. It's a problem when you can criticize Israel at all. And let's cut the collateral damage crap. Israelis soldiers are not trying to minimize casualties. They are sending drones out there that are shooting children playing. I'll never understand how people use Oct 7th to put a blind eye to real human suffering and justify atrocities. It takes a certain type of hatred to feel sympathy for one side's victims and not the other's.
Let me begin by stating that I enjoy your point of view on many subjects. You may disagree with me on my mindset that if October 7th never occurred, this thread would not even exist. War sucks. But if you go and kill a bunch of people celebrating a harvest at a festival you should probably expect some sort of retaliation. I suspect Hamas NEVER thought the retaliation would have been to this scale but it's what happens. Let's say North Korean troops did this at Coachella. Do you think USA would not retaliate in a far more exaggerated manner. Respectfully.
Once again, it isn't a matter of the nationality of the dead, it is the manner. Let's not cut the "collateral damage crap," because it is everything. They aren't sending drones out to target children playing, they are sending drones out to kill Hamas. They are dropping bombs to kill Hamas. Everything they are doing is targeted at Hamas and the other combatant organizations they are fighting (Hezbollah, PIJ, IRGC, etc.) It has nothing to do with putting (turning?) a blind eye to human suffering, it has everything to do with a basic understanding of the reality of fighting an enemy that fights you while embedded within a civilian population. I have said a hundred times that it would be incredibly easy for Hamas to reduce civilian casualties to near zero in Gaza. Operate out of marked military bases that are separated from the civilian population, just like Israel does.
I don't believe in collective punishment. The leaders of Hamas have been killed and the organization decimated. But 100K palestinians also killed. That's not an even response. Hamas doesn't care if 100k of Palestinians die. Hamas is about Hamas. Gazans are getting killed indiscriminately. Enough is enough.
Israel isn't just bombing indiscriminately - they are targeting innocents - children are not Hamas. And the number of children shot by drones is staggering.
Did not the people of Gaza elect Hamas as the official ruling party? And let me ask you again with all due respect. Would this thread be in existence if October 7 never happened?
I endorse the side that does not target civilians. ...the side that doesn't take civilian hostages. ...the side that doesn't use rape as a military weapon. ...the side that doesn't behead their enemies. ...the side that doesn't use their own people as human shields by storing military staff, weapons, ammunition, and other military resources in schools, hospitals, and other civilian areas, intentionally putting their own civilians in harm's way. ...the side that doesn't intercept their citizen's humanitarian aid and sell it, thus denying their own people of critical supplies. ...the side that doesn't refuse to coexist peacefully with the other side. ...and so should you.
It’s always a question of culpability of a population and the punishment of war the population should or should not face in response to attacks ordered by the officials in charge. I can speak for myself that Id rather not have Iran or Mexico or whomever Trump targets view me as someone that deserves to die because Trump went to war with them. I think you think about these things coming from a place of humanity AND Justice to find a reasonable solution. It’s safe to say that in WW2, it was reasonable that the German and Japanese population was going to have casualties on your hand with indiscriminate bombing. But then you have certain military campaigns where objectives can probably be achieved more humanly or shouldn’t be waged at all if you are pricing in loss of civilians. I think Netanyahu has handled this situation over the top of what I would deem to be inappropriate. Regardless of the population’s political support. If you are using a vote that happened years ago to justify I think you’ve tipped over that moral scale and are wrong. Not saying that’s you but just saying in theory. War is hell. Luckily we as Americans are fortunate enough to have the best special forces and intelligence capabilities to achieve military and political foreign objectives without needing such mass killing on civilizations. Israel should also have that privilege to use their capabilities to avoid that but it seems they chose brutality…. Which is the problem here. When there are multiple options and you choose the brutal option I think that says a lot about how you should be judged.
