I'm actually okay with Jalen's game today he wasn't shooting well and turning the ball over but at least he didn't play hero ball and attempted 20 shots with 10 from behind the arc which would have meant taking shots away from his teammates
Bro I’ve always had respectful interactions with you here and I’m not about to change that just because we have a difference in opinion over a player. Just enjoy the win, enjoy the beautiful spring weather you got over there and I hope you have an awesome day. I’ll keep agreeing with you when we have the same thoughts, it just so happens that we don’t, in this case
I'm not saying you're wrong, but it is sad that the expectations have now been set so low that this statement is not considered outrageous.
Van Vleet played hero ball and won, Dillon played hero shot, it was risky though. That is basketball.....if you are hot, you ride the hot hand until you miss.
No player scores 40 every night - tonight is what I want a slow night from JG to look like. Didn't force anything, just played within the flow, hustled on defense. Few mistakes but him going after the ball and blocking after he turned the ball over was amazing to see. There were still a few instances of bad decision making, aimless dribbling, etc but he was super quick to rein it back in whenever bad habits tried to surface again. I think he's a little bit in the doghouse tbh - he doesn't have plays drawn for him lately, and I don't think he's allowed to chuck as much as he wants anymore, which actually is a good thing because it was actually hurting him. Hopefully this is the beginning of a reset for him.
Hate all you want but Fred doesn’t hit that 3 if Jalen doesn’t dribble between his legs for a brilliant pass with 1 second left on the clock to a wide open Fred in mid court
Seems like the bar for Jalen has been set pretty low these days. I think a Jalen upgrade would be the easiest and best way to greatly improve this team, but at this point and especially after a big win like that I don't think it's critical to replace him. If the team collectively can continue to win games and Jalen can pitch in with a big game here and there, that's good enough for me...for now.... But if the Rockets do end up keeping up this stellar play, just like the Texans, expectation will rise....
I'm a Jater and I'm fine with his game tonight too. I don't really have much a beef with his contribution in a vacuum most of the time anymore either. My main beef is that his extension is pretty bad and is probably ultimately going to cost assets to move. But that's a down the road problem.
What if I told you we already have a young, talented and athletic shooting guard built like Anthony Edwards that’s sitting on the bench?
If the expectation now is of Jalen Green being a role player, then the Rockets need to find a real numero uno. I've been fairly against a Brandon Ingram acquisition in general, but unless there's an unexpected star available that I'm unaware of, he may be the best possible guy for the team to get to reach actual contender status this season. Cause there's zero chance any other young Rocket (Cam/Tari/Jabari/Reed/Amen) who can develop enough offense to be doing serious damage in the playoffs.
jalen was not on planet earth, then he realized the clock was about to expire, threw the live grenade to Fred, and Fred throws up a shot from the parking lot because there was no time on the clock.
Yeah I swear I could see the moment he looked at the shot clock and went "oh sh*t". Credit where credit is due though, I like the version of Jalen that actually recognizes he's having an off night and only takes 6 shot attempts as a result. That's growth. He doesn't have to be a star, that would be nice, but we don't necessarily need that from him. If he can just commit to playing above-average defense and not chuck us out of games anymore it will be a massive improvement, and when he's having a hot night we can feed him.
Edwards has high basketball IQ and doesnt have tunnel vision. Having a hummer body is useless if the engine is a Geely.
Fred could not miss today even if he wanted .....kidding but it felt like they were going in regardless.
The numero uno was only to appease his worshippers ..... but yeah I admit he had his fair share of games that he looked like a real decent NBA player other than his scoring. I do not fully agree that the other young Rockets have Zero chance, it is only that the Rockets are now contending, leaves no space for massive development.... Hate to say it but by expediting the process, some young players will have to be let go.......
Another MVP game from green. I think stone pray to god every morning he wake up and thx what a nice No2 pick in the draft and what a nice contract he gave green he can not w8 to give green his next big contract around 400 million for 5 jears
Players like Jalen Green come and go in NBA. I am not a fan of Green, in my view, he is at best role player in NBA. But after a huge win, lt is not time for Green hate/criticism mesages. He is not a bad tempered or bad behaviored player, he is just not a player that our fans expect from top #2 seed. Green can score 40, 50 but with how consistency? With how many shots. His problem is he has low basketball iq and still does not properly know what to do on the field. But this does not mean he deserves hate. Only thing we have to do is to minimize our expectations. He is our player, we need to carry on our support. Yes he is the weakest chain, bu signed extention- and as l know, lf l know it wrong please correct me, he wont be eligible for trade this year.
