I like this trade. It would weaken our defense, but we might could find a smaller trade for a complimentary forward off the bench with some defensive chops. If Jalen hasn't turned a corner, I could see a rotation like this: Amen, FVV, Tari, Jabari, Sengun. Vincent, Green, Reeves, trade candidate or Tate, Landale
Vincent isnt even close to being an nba player at this point and may never get back to it. He has a 1.7 PER and a TS that’s like 34% below the league. Reed is light years better even if he doesn’t improve. He’s pure dead salary
Agreed, i was pretty surprised when i looked at vincent's stats, he was a solid role guy in miami but once he injured his knee it looks like he's toast
He is injured, he is out a minimum of two weeks with a left calf strain. Pretty disappointing, thought he was finally going to have a complete season and was doing well.
Jerami Grant - 2 firsts Dorian Finney-Smith - 1 first . I don't mind the Rockets giving up two firsts......but let's see if they can get it down to one Multiple firsts for Cam Johnson
Why? He gives you? 18 to 20 points (13.5 FGA's this year.......20 pts two years ago and 21 last year) Rebounds (3.4) Asts (2.2) Stls (0.9) Blks (1.1) 3's (35% on 6.4 attempts......shot 40% each of last two years) FT's (82%) Thunder are only team with more assets to pick whoever they want......but who else is out there? Under contract for 2 more years ($32M and $34M).....which is good value with new CBA coming and players like Grant getting $49M. The Tatum and Jaylen Browns will get $60M/yr. So not bad for a 2nd or 3rd option who can dribble drive, hit 3's, FT's, Rebound, and defend positions 2-5. *Which firsts are we talking about? One Suns first = 2 Rockets firsts (near 30 lol) I'm talking two Rockets firsts
He doesn’t give you 18 - 20 points a game. He started strong and has really cooled off. 14.5 points the last ten games on a 54.5 TS%.
They are tanking for Flagg He helps in a position of need PF and help provide spacing which helps Sengun/Green get theirs with greater ease. Helps defend both perimeter and interior. He got 5 points vs us in game one of b2b......but we embarrassed them and he came out with 21 easy quite points gm 2...bunch of 3's. Tried one game and the other "THEY" did not. ______________ I can see it already, Rockets will hold out for the best of best stars and end up with nothing. Try again next year.
Grant is where we would like Jabari to be at today. Grant had 10 drives a game last year.....8 this season. That's what separates him from others. Cam Johnson and Duncan Robinson don't drive. Cam Johnson then becomes just another Ariza. Which is good but a poor man's Jerami Grant. Like those who say there are 500 channels but nothing to watch.....Rockets have a million draft picks but are too timid to spend them on role players that make us better. Has to be Big Fish or nothing. Then eat nothing and don't cry about it later. Championship windows open and close quickly.
@Houston77 Let me guess, you were upset we traded Josh Christopher, TyTy, and Garuba? All first rounders that are barely scratching the surface of actually playing, but Apache they were first round picks !!
Bari has a higher PIE, PER, and a much lower defensive rating. The last ten games, Bari is averaging 49 from 2 and 45.5 from 3 v. 39 and 36 from Grant. I wouldn’t consider trading Smith straight up for Grant.
He is not as good as Jabari. No way he is worth 2 frp's. We are second in the West and you want to make a panic trade for an overpaid vet that averages 3.4 rebounds from the Pf position?
Again you are confusing team support/motivation with individual. I remember when Harden and P.J. Tucker were 120 DRtg with the Rockets then they got traded. P.J.Tucker DRtg lowered on that Milwaukee team as they won a championship. But Apache, a player has DRtg with one team then it should be the same with another team if traded, right? No P.J.Tucker DRtg dropped even greater the next year with Miami. It's not the individual defense in the NBA as much as who is playing next to him. And a coach who stresses D.
So you are predicting the Rockets pick to be around #16 or #18 or #24 or #26 (our pick goes to Thunder anyway)? So we are talking a Suns pick. We barely have room to play the kids we got now. I'm saying with Jerami Grant we could win it all. Of course there are no guarantees in life except death and taxes.
