That's weird, why did I also immediately say Walter Scott was murdered? Was he in my empathy zone as a 50-year-old black man from South Carolina? Or is it just that there are obvious cases of murder and obvious cases of justified use of force and I am not the one that has trouble differentiating between them depending on the skin tone of the people involved.
Yes, she should have complied. That is why I said she should be arrested. It isn't simply lack of compliance that justifies use of force though. You know that of course, but you need to push your agenda.
None of the people in the area Babbitt was killed had assaulted law enforcement. Approaching her would not have put anyone at risk. Byrd was in an otherwise empty hallway.
The SWAT members were standing calmly next to a staircase which people were walking down and heading out of the building. They were there because the building was on lockdown for the riot, not due to any particularized threat represented by Babbitt. There is no indication they were unaware of the layout of the building or where the joint session was being held. Police are always outnumbered in a riot, but that doesn't stop them from arresting/controlling people's movements. If the SWAT team thought she was a threat, they would be the ones best equipped to respond, not a lieutenant with a Glock.
They had every chance. She isolated herself with a much larger male officer. He chose to shoot her in the neck instead of arresting her. The SWAT team chose to allow her to slowly climb through the window instead of arresting her.
No, it wouldn't. The window was a chokepoint. Approaching and defending would put him in less danger. There was no one else to endanger by approaching, Byrd was the only one in the hallway.
Pure speculation. Especially if she were immediately detained. This was a small window that she had difficulty getting through. It wasn't a big gap that a crowd could surge through.
    See response to number 1.
No, it would have reinforced the position where they had many armed officers behind barricades, eliminating the vulnerable position where a single officer was by himself in an otherwise empty hallway.
    See response to number 2.

This is the first I've heard that the people in the crowd with Babbit had conclusively not been among those assaulting officers and personnel. Byrd wouldn't have been informed that he was facing the one peaceful group of mob participants.

The congressional members and staff were just inside a door. They were worried enough that they started removing their congressional pins. The worst part is that they were trapped in that room. There was no other way for them. They were trapped.

They weren't just inside a door, there is footage from inside the chamber of the doors leading to the Speaker's lobby (the hallway that Byrd was in), and they have barricaded the entrances and there are armed guards behind the barricades.

Yeah those guys standing next to Babbit ramming the glass with a flag pole weren't violent at all according to Moniker. Then Babbit decides to scale the entry like a spider monkey. After those same guys were yelling "he has a gun"

That's law enforcement and not the members of congress. There is no other way out for the people there.

Footage shows the hands of an officer on the other side, holding a gun and pointing it toward the mob. We hear a shot and see Babbitt fall to the ground.

People still inside the gallery of the chamber are trapped. They tell each other to take off their congressional pins

Of course the guys with the guns are law enforcement, those are the armed guards I mentioned. You said "The congressional members and staff were just inside a door. " They were not. Behind Byrd was a door, then a barricade, then at least four law enforcement officers with guns guarding the door. Byrd wasn't some last line of defense.
Correct, they guys standing next to Babbitt approached the three officers that were between Babbitt and the door and didn't attack them, they talked to them. They said they supported them all summer when people were constantly going after the cops. They said they weren't looking to hurt anyone, they just wanted to go inside. Then the SWAT team arrived and those three cops left down the stairs to the right, and allowed the guy with the helmet to break out the window while the SWAT team stood by and watched. Then Babbitt climbed through the window requiring the help of two other people, and again, the SWAT team took no actions to stop her, mere feet away, because they didn't think she was an imminent threat to anyone. Then Byrd shot and killed her.

so claimed by the mob of tresspassers
the mob tresspassed the Capitol building to interrupt a congressional proceeding.
had Babbit not join the mob to trespass the Capitol building, she would be alive today.

    https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/department-justice-closes-investigation-death-ashli-babbitt

Babbitt was among a mob of people that entered the Capitol building and gained access to a hallway outside “Speaker’s Lobby,” which leads to the Chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives.
At the time, the USCP was evacuating Members from the Chamber, which the mob was trying to enter from multiple doorways.
USCP officers used furniture to barricade a set of glass doors separating the hallway and Speaker’s Lobby to try and stop the mob from entering the Speaker’s Lobby and the Chamber,
and three officers positioned themselves between the doors and the mob.

Members of the mob attempted to break through the doors by striking them and breaking the glass with their hands, flagpoles, helmets, and other objects.

Eventually, the three USCP officers positioned outside the doors were forced to evacuate. As members of the mob continued to strike the glass doors,
Babbitt attempted to climb through one of the doors where glass was broken out.

An officer inside the Speaker’s Lobby fired one round from his service pistol, striking Babbitt in the left shoulder, causing her to fall back from the doorway and onto the floor.
A USCP emergency response team, which had begun making its way into the hallway to try and subdue the mob, administered aid to Babbitt,
who was transported to Washington Hospital Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Babbit was committing a crime … criminal trespass … got told by a cop to go no further or she would get shot … FAFO … and got shot.

if Babbit had survived the GSW, she would have been charged with criminal trespass and failure to obey a PO.

The sad thing is that the SCWs would have not taken up Babbit’s cause if she were black.

i disagree with your take, but i appreciate you actually having the courage to respond unlike @Commodore and @El_Conquistador or traderjorge or bigtexxx or mojoman or whatever he calls himself these days.

@FranchiseBlade did a good job of responding to your points and i dont have much else to add to that other than that if you watch the video this was a violent, aggressive mob who had been beating the s*** out of hundreds of cops and threatening to murder the VP and hunting down sitting members of congress. any reasonable person would be in fear for their life when facing a mob like this.

ashley babbitt is dead because she believed trumps lies about the election being stolen, made the decision to engage in insurrection and made the decision to climb through a broken window and barriers in order to get to members of congress. want to blame somebody then blame her, the people who pushed her through that window and lastly trump for inciting them to do what they did.

these people are psychos...no telling what they would have done to the cop and members of congress if they got through. i cant believe anyone would try to defend these traitors in any way.

Did any J 6'er kill anybody, were there any guns brought into the Capitol by the j 6'ers?

Did the government encourage the j6ers to enter the capitol? Did the government officials kill an unarmed woman? Was there any consequences for this government officials actions?

The GOP knew what happened immediately after it happened and said it out loud, but then they cowered because they were told to, this is what happens when you listen to one man and not the people your supposed to be serving. Whitewash it all you want, try and change the facts but even the staunchest trump supporters knew exactly what happened and for a BRIEF moment actually told the truth

Today was a dark day in the history of the United States Capitol… We condemn the violence that took place here in the strongest possible terms… To those who wreaked havoc in our Capitol today, you did not win. Violence never wins. Freedom wins.

Former Vice President Mike Pence, January 6, 2021

Today, the people's House was attacked, which is an attack on the Republic itself. There is no excuse for it. A women died. And people need to go to jail. And the President should never have spun up certain Americans to believe something that simply cannot be.

United States Capitol Police saved my life. Attacks on law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs are never acceptable. Period. We can passionately protest without being violent

Chaos, anarchy. The violence today was wrong and un-American.

    Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), January 6, 2021

When it comes to accountability, the President needs to understand that his actions were the problem, not the solution, that the rally yesterday was unseemly, it got out of hand... I said on the floor of the Senate, I cast my vote accordingly, that Joe Biden is the legitimate president-elect of the United States.

Jerod Thomas Bargar, 37, of Centralia, MO., was sentenced to five years probation, six months of home confinement, and ordered to pay a $4,000 fine by U.S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton. Bargar pleaded guilty to one felony count of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, a felony, on June 8, 2023.

The total number of guns in the mob that day will never be known, but other defendants have admitted they were armed, including Mark Mazza, who was carrying two firearms and received five years in federal prison when he was sentenced last year. Guy Reffitt, a Jan. 6 rioter who charged up the stairs alongside Alberts and was the first Capitol rioter to go to trial, also had a gun. He was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison.

You are wrong about J6ers carrying guns. Do yourself a favor and stop believing the right wing media telling you these falsehoods.

I've seen many MAGA on social media that believe and spread the lie that J6ers weren't carrying firearms. It is really too bad so much misinformation exists, is spread and believed.

This is the first I've read about this. However nobody was shot so I guess what I'm asking you is what's your definition of an insurrection. The only killing done that day was by a capitol policeman killing an unarmed woman.

Thanks in large part to law enforcement who were there and behaved with amazing restraint and bravery.

She was part of a violent mob who broke the law, chanted that they wanted to hang the Vice president, have had members testified they would killed Pelosi if they found her, ignored orders to not cross the barricade but disobeyed the lawful order. They were trying to stop the certification of the election. To me, that qualifies as an insurrection.

POs were soundly beaten by the mob of insurrectionists. For example a PO was beaten with a fire extinguisher. It is a wonder that PO was not killed.

You seem to find it difficult to process knowledge, with all due respect.
