It has been a few years since the Rockets were truly competitive, but here we are, and while it has been a frustrating path to get here, it is time to kick back and enjoy what we have. No, we are not perfect, Yes, we are still developing but...BUT....this team is gelling, they like each other, they work for each other and while we may have a few hiccups like the 2nd Portland game, we are still winning at a nearly .700 mark. That isn't good, that is GREAT, so I for one, am going to step away from the constant theme of how we can get better, and just enjoy what we have......while I fully expect Stone to change things.....I am just going to enjoy the best defensive team I have seen in years.... Enjoy the ride - this is gonna be fun. DD
Perhaps it's cause I am an older person, but I have never felt the need to express from watching sporting events by telling everyone on the internet. Me screaming at the TV (computer screen these days) after Amen made that steal and tied up the game was amazing. But if I were to talk about Amen on the internet, I'd just discuss his overall play, his seemingly improved shot, and still issues with usage where he's playing more like a role player and not trying to assert himself.
Yes! "Enjoy the ride - this is gonna be fun." This! While I still am thinking about how the Rockets should improve the team and will rant (to myself mostly) about the bad decisions that Stone is sure to make from time to time, there is enough talent to compete going forward. The team is flawed in certain ways, but they are a good team with some flaws, not a flawed team with some good players. I am enjoying this season and becoming more and more optimistic about 50+ wins and home court in round 1 of the playoffs.
Rockets are playing with house money this season Part of me though wishes we had not extended both Sengun & Green & had flexibility to acquire a true star while Amen etc are on their rookie deals (and maybe packaged the 3 pick who is useless this season so far) - gonna be impossible to keep all these guys.
True dat. We are fans - fanatics - by definition, we are going to try to over analyze and obsess in an excessive way. But, it’s good to take a step back and look at the big picture. The team has flaws, and we will be pulling out our hair on many nights. BUT, we need to remember how hard it’s been hard to watch, most of the time, over the past 4 years. Last year, we took some steps. But the previous 3 years, just not competitive, frustrating, and oftentimes boring to watch. This group is exciting. They compete. They play with heart. And they just won their group in the nba cup. Some days, just remember to enjoy the ride and enjoy being a relevant team again. We are headed in the right direction, after many years of being in the basement of the nba.
Crazy to swing from one of the best Offenses to one of the best Defenses We are not in the league where people Spam 3's and we don't have many of those but it's ok . .. but maybe something to look into Rocket River
It's been 3 years I've watched every game watching these guys grow. This is why this season is especially rewarding to see the players who didn't know a thing about winning growing up in front of our eyes.
14-6 at a .700 win pace and at least 3 or 4 other games we could have won as well.....in good shape. And sitting number 2 in the West. https://www.espn.com/nba/standings DD
