Watching kids, Bayern Munich Champions League, reading Clutchfans and fending off the wife at the same already .
On a side note, I was watching the chop shop and Frank said that Sengun had been yelling for cuts at the posts. I wondered why Sengun didn't have as good chemistry with other players on our current rosters as he had with KJ Martin. I wonder if it was the spacing or personal reasons. Sengun definitely an unselfish player and is willing to pass the ball, but we no longer see those crazy passing to someone cutting to the basket.
I already did and posted in some thread, probably the 4 man line up thread. All these 2-3-4 man line up, +/- stats, off&def ratings come down to analyzing the 5 man line ups. We have 3 or 4 line ups with limited minutes that have crazy net ratings. All of them include replacing one or both of green and Jabari with tari and amen. It is certain that those lineups should be played more to see where they go. The differences in +/- mainly come from those 5s.
I missed the KJ-Alpi alley play. It worked almost all the time. We’ve seen it once this yesr with Cam. Gimme more of that please.
Of the 640 possessions they have played together so far, 416 of those were without Alperen Sengun. The overall point differential for these 416 possessions without Alpi was +6. Most common lineups listed below. 224 possessions with Alpi. The overall point differential for these 224 possessions with Alpi was +32.1. Of the 640 possessions they have played together so far, 286 of those were without Jalen Green. The overall point differential for these 286 possessions without Jalen was +18.9. Most common lineups listed below. 354 possessions with Jalen. The overall point differential for these 354 possessions with Jalen was +12.1. My conclusion: The Rockets benefit massively from playing Alpi, Amen, Tari together. Jalen benefits from Amen and Tari, but drags Amen and Tari down.
Of the 640 possessions they have played together so far, 507 of those were without Jabari Smith. The overall point differential for these 507 possessions without Bari was +13.8. 133 possessions with Bari. The overall point differential for these 133 possessions with Bari was +20.3. Of the 640 possessions they have played together so far, 446 of those were without Dillon Brooks. The overall point differential for these 446 possessions without Dillon was +6.6. 194 possessions with Dillon. The overall point differential for these 194 possessions with Dillon was +34.3. Conclusion: Playing them with Dillon is GREAT.
Finally: Of the 640 possessions they have played together so far, 350 of those were without Fred van Vleet. The overall point differential for these 350 possessions without Fred was +15.4. 290 possessions with Fred. The overall point differential for these 290 possessions with Fred was +14.8. Conclusion: They are fine with or without Fred.
Now that we know they really play well with Alpi and Dillon, let's look at what happens when all four of them are on the floor together: Yep, here we go. All four of them on the floor together have a +71.8 point differential. It doesn't really matter who the fifth person on the floor is, it seems. 100th percentile both on offense and defense. Why are we not seeing this A LOT more often? What I would like to see is that lineup together with Reed Sheppard. I consider that our future: Sheppard, Amen, Dillon, Tari, Sengun. That's a championship lineup.
