yikes the hits just keep on coming. This season is done, what a bad disappointment. If we lose against the Jags which is very possible, we lose the division and miss the Playoffs.
It is unfair to blame CJ Stroud for the "crappy" football that the Texans are playing. He is part of the problem, maybe more of a symptom of the problem. You play behind an offensive line like he has, and see how you do. Try to execute the plays that Slowik is calling and see how you do. Again, the fundamental problem this team has are that their coaches are being out coached. They are losing the chess game which is pro football. Slowik is so predictable, I am calling the plays before they happen. Seriously. And when they are not working, he KEEPS calling them. Slowik would be sooooo gone if I was in charge. And I am just a fan. I never played pro football. I am not a coach. It is that bad, that obvious.
Short passing game could potentially negate the Texans pass rush. Forcing the secondary to both tackle well and avoid the friendly fire from 0, 39, and 45.
Well, it seems that Amy Sistrunk was moved to tears by Sunday's result: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...s-strunk-moved-tears-win-rival-houston-texans
It’s borderline creepy you’re in here still. Are you that lonely in life? Do your friends and family know that you spend as much time as you do on a Houston sports fan forum begging for attention? If you’re that lonely, you can come spend thanksgiving with me and my fam in Denver. Keep your head up dude.
I don't blame Stroud, but he isn't off the hook. The blame goes to everyone from coaches to players. Levis simply played better under pressure, and their offensive line is worse than ours. It's hard to really get a good critique of CJ when you watch the games on TV. They never show the field view so I can't ever see where our receivers are when he makes his throws. Maybe guys he isn't targeting are open, but I don't know. His back peddling 10 yards or more while focusing on one guy makes me wonder what's really going on half the time. I wonder if he could just throw it off quicker, instead of back peddling and find an open quick target. His running isn't his strength, because he usually ends up behind the marker when he scrambles. He isn't like Josh Allen with that type ability, especially running into the end zone. I have no faith in using CJ on a quarterback sneak compared to someone like Jackson, Josh Allen, or even Baker Mayfield.. Throwing past the marker on the run isn't something he's great at either. He's no Mahomes or Jackson throwing on the run. He often misses his target or just dumps it off at the last second to someone behind the marker for no gain. He's throwing a lot of balls so damn low that if a receiver does scoop one up they are immediately tackled to the ground. I really like CJ, and think he can improve with time, and become a fantastic QB. He's got a good head on him and seems to really want to get better. This year might be a reality check to humble him a bit, after his rookie year, and hopefully learning to play under extreme pressure will make him way better when we finally do have a decent offensive line. That being said, his struggles can't all be blamed on the offensive line or the coaches. He just needs to learn how to make better decisions with what he is given to work with.
DeMeco needs to learn how to read the room. If there's ONE game you dare not poop the bed in the manner they did yesterday it's a home game against the "Tennessee" Oilers. Especially when Tennessee limps into NRG with a 2-8 record and manages to completely out play and out coach your team. This loss may very well come back to haunt him.
Its Tuesday and I am still pissed, looks like Petrie may or may not have surgery, that's a huge blow............I really hate to have to rely on Eric Murray, he was horrible on Sunday. Not sure what to expect on Sunday, there coming off a BYE and get Trevor back so they have been studying us for a week, which to be honest shouldn't be that hard..........blow up the O Line and pressure CJ, I am hoping for a healthy dose of Mixon who seems to be our only running threat. What will Slowik to do, what changes will he make, If Fisher is healthy does he take a spot on the O Line and someone gets benched.........I have a feeling we see ZERO change and we trot the same line and the same bunch formations, throw in one reverse that goes for 2 yards and have CJ running for his life. The reality is the Jags suck, but on Sunday at noon they will look like the Patriots of old and Trevor will look like Brady................................did I mention I am still pissed, this one stung extra hard
