They are better at shot-blocking and 3-pointers. Sengun is better at passing/creating for others, rebounding, screen assists, box outs, advanced stats. And much better at winning than Wemby.

Nope. Only if you look at offensive counting stats, not if you look at overall impact, defensive impact, advanced stats, WINNING. And you are ignoring the age difference. If you compare them at the same age, it isn't even close.

You're quoting a team stat to make a point about an individual player. You're also quoting a stat that says that Sengun is a better defender than Wemby and FVV is a top 10 defender. Hopefully, you don't actually believe that.

 

You are in an extremely small minority if you believe that Sengun is better than Wemby or Holmgren.

How about efficiency, fg%, 3pt%? Those aren't counting stats. As far as winning, Sabonis' team has finished 10 games over .500 and 14 games over .500 the last two seasons. Sengun's team has never had a winning record. Sabonis has been a better rebounder than Sengun every season including this year.

Age difference has nothing to do with who is currently the best player. If you want to include potential, then Wemby is the best player in the nba.

Who will be better wasn't the discussion. It was who is better now. That is Sabonis.

 

It has to be a true star who can lead the team and make a difference. Obviously, you don't want an older player for that role. Anyone who can do those things will work, regardless of position.

 

He's said that sengun would be jokic with better defense, which is certainly better than anything wemby could be and miles better than anything holmgren could be. That would put his floor as the 3rd best player ever, with him almost certainly surpassing lebron and probably even jordan. Nothing wrong with believing in your guy even if it's silly, it's just basketball.

 

The two were pretty much even last year .7 and .6.
