Good thing both major American political parties are ravenously capitalistic.

CircleTheDrain has been parroting Ole, who conveniently claims that

both CircleTheDrain / Ole need to read the history book
    • Japan
      • in the mid-1940s, Japan was a war-torned economy trying to recover from WW2 and the 2 atomic bombs detonated by the US
      • by 1968, the revitalized Japanese economy had risen to become the 2nd largest economy in the world, behind the USA
    • China
      • in the middle of the then-iolationaist communist country's economic folly, The Great Lap Forward, it had experienced the biggest famine in history, some 30 million Chinese starved to death and about the same number of births were lost or postponed.
      • in ~ 1980, China's new leader, Deng XiaPing, implemented capitalism with Chinese characteristics, forming the economic foundation to transform China to become the world's manufacturing power, lifting hundreads of millions of Chinese citizens out of poverty
      • by 2010, the new economic power had surpassed Japan as the 2nd largest economy in the world

    to CircleTheDrain / Ole:

when Poland becomes the 2nd largest economy in the world, let us know !

Good for Poland. I hope one day our country is controlled by the middle class instead of billionaires...

ATW, explain the premise of the tweets in your own words. I want to see what you are retaining from these tweet spams that form your world views.

The dichotomy between Krakow (which both the Nazis and Soviets decided to go around and not destroy, each way) and Warsaw, which was flattened and rebuilt by Russia.

I hightly recommend visiting Krakow instead of Prague.

Firstly, outpacing US development is a lot easier when your considerably less developed. Secondly, dude @AroundTheWorld what the f*ck lol

Why do you think they have lower poverty? They quite literally have a social program HANDING MONEY from TAXES to the poor.

https://www.gov.pl/web/family/family-800#:~:text=Under the 'Family 800 plus,800 per month per child.

Slovenia and Czechia, the countries with even lower poverty? Same situation. Heavy social programs.

It's not Capitalism over socialism, it's capitalism WITH socialism. It's mixed economies, with significant welfare states.

It's the opposite of what the right wing is running on in the US. Kamala was proposing a 6k child tax credit, the increased child tax credit during covid took MILLIONS of children out of poverty in the US. Which is exactly what Poland is doing with their Family 800+ progam

    Poland was socialist until 1989/90.

Capitalism lifted them out of poverty.

I forgive you for not knowing what you are talking about.

Thanks for forgiving me I genuinely appreciate it but I just have to say the political football on the ambiguity over the language regarding economic systems is exhausting.

If a country using taxes to redistribute wealth to the poor through social programs is still purely capitalism then fine. I guess I don't know why Poland, and the US are labeled as mixed economies. They are just capitalist okay, okay. I don't know what that means for the public sector but okay, okay.

I just hope you wouldn't turn around and call Biden, Kamala, Bernie, whoever's next on the left for the US, socialist or using socialism - when they infer to using taxes to redistribute the wealth to the poor in an attempt to lower poverty.

    tldr, forgive me father for I am stupid;

In the meantime the US has just reelected president who wants to put in uncapitalistic policies like protectionism.
