From a practical standpoint - a Judge is going to keep as many potential jurors in the pool as possible. Judge's usually will be satisfied if a potential juror states that they can be fair. I have seen some exceptions. At the state level I have seen Judge's for example take a juror alone into chambers and then come out and excuse the juror. I also once had a juror state that he hated black women and women in general - he was excused as well.

However - in the majority of cases, if a juror tells the Judge that they can put aside their biases - they are allowed to remain on the jury UNLESS the Defendant or Plaintiff decide to use one of their own strikes. The number of strikes can vary depending on where the suit is held.

A good attorney always tries to get the Court on their own to strike someone that they do not like - but it doesn't usually work.

Usually there would be a side bar outside the jury where we would make our positions known to the judge, who then would decide.

So @StupidMoniker is right from a practical standpoint - the court seldom strikes someone on their own if they claim they can put their biases aside and be fair - BUT sometimes there are exceptions and the attorneys can strike them as well if they want to use their strikes on a particular juror.

No... in real life you are wrong. January 6th was bad. If you need to see video evidence again to see it with your own eyes I can send it to you. It was not peaceful, and Congress was definitely in danger.

What also was in danger was the electoral vote tally which was in the house danger that some organizers are on video going after. Had that staffer not grabbed and secured those documents you literally would have stolen the election in terms of the physical representation of the Democratic process.

So Democracy and the peaceful transfer of power.. all of that obviously isn't important to you and that's fine. That's on you. But don't sit here and gaslight us to think we are stupid enough to adopt your fantasy land worldview on Earth 2.

It's scary/sad that you haven't received all of the information. Some were let in to avoid violent conflict. Others forced their way in severely injuring law enforcement. Insurrectionists were armed. Some have been convicted of firearm possession, others carried clubs, batons, flagpoles, and other weapons.

It is known from sworn testimony and communications between law enforcement as well as communication between the insurrectionists that they scouted at least 24 hours in advance where to break in, and the weakest spots for breaking into the building. They were chanting they were going to hang the Vice President of the United States. Law enforcement didn't open fire until after the mob had already bashed in the window and refused orders to stand down. The congressional staff was feet away from her as she broke through despite orders to stand back.

 

Hopefully the Trump justice department finally charges him for murdering her.

Treason has a very narrow legal definition in the United States. Legally it is not treason. However, they should be tried for every single law they broke.
