I never knew how much his unwillingness to rebuild was due to Leslie and how much was his own preference.

They could get a ton of assets for Embiid, PG, Maxey if he was willing to do it. But you're right, his past track record suggests he won't.

It was never up to Morey to blow up a team..... Morey is and was never an owner and was always beholden to the wishes of the owner.

Here is what I hear….Rockets are not interested at all in trading young assets for over 30 year old players. They feel fine at guard and center and the move they are looking to make is at the forward position if a star becomes available. Robert Williams is a player of interest for additional depth at PF and C.

 

We need a star player regardless of position. We need someone that we can count on every night. Of course, we also can't gut the team to acquire the star player. That's what makes it difficult.

 

Who are you hearing that from, your sister? Why would the Rockets be looking for a forward when they are overflowing with forwards that already don’t get enough minutes. I could see a better backup center since Adams didn’t work out, but if that happens it will probably just be a throw-in with a bigger trade. We have one glaring issue on offense and it is at SG. Either the current SG needs to improve or we need to trade for a better one. I really think the Rockets are happy with the status quo and will save their powder until someone they really want becomes available. I doubt that happens this year. Booker is their obvious target. It is why they made the Nets trade.

I completely disagree if I had a say I would not trade Jabari nor Reed. I think they are both going to be excellent winning players.

Good, I am glad they are not interested. Lets see where this young core takes us. We have no idea what the current ceiling is. We are one game out of the top spot in the West. This team is poised to make at least a little noise in the playoffs THIS YEAR with our current roster and they will only mature and get better. Why would you blow that up now?

 

No reason to blow it up. We have a very solid core going forward. That being said, we will not be a legitimate contender until we have the semblance of consistent outside shooting. If that doesn’t happen from players we already have we need to find them from outside. If we do need to go outside of the organization to meet that need, it should primarily be done with draft picks not busting up the core.

Yes we need shooting and luckily we just happened to draft one of the best shooters ever coming out of college last year. I expect Reed, like Amen last year, will really start to show his worth by the end of the season.
