Agree - haven't we been punished for long enough watching Harden draw fouls for EIGHT years?

Negotiating 101. Let the other side know you can walk away from the deal with no problem. This is part of that.

Giannis is leading the league in scoring with 31 ppg at 60% FG to go with 12 boards and 6 assists. He has won ring as THE guy, he hasn’t turned 30 yet and can extend his career by moving to the C spot.

Would there be risks in trading for him? Yes, but short of him flat out not wanting to be here, it would feel pretty ridiculous to think it wouldn’t merit deep consideration with a fairly decent courtesy offer on the table.

Harden is Picasso and poetry in motion compared to Giannis

Giannis is one of the most unwatchable players I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching…he brings pain to my eyes

if they strapped me to a chair and started showing Giannis playing basketball on a monitor, I’m confessing and spilling all the beans telling every state secret I know

People turning their noses at Giannis is pretty surprising. Dude is a bonafide tier 1 superstar under 30 and fits in with our defensive identity. I'd at least be willing to hear what Milwaukee wants.

I thought what was in the OP was from the article, but it seems like it's just the OP's thoughts, so nvm if that's the case.

People that are confusing "Rockets not interested in Giannis" and "Rockets not interest in Giannis at his trade price"

I think it's way too high risk. The championship window would be way too short, it might even be non existent. It's going to take a few years before our young guys get enough playoff experience to be legitimate title contenders. And by the time we get there I don't know how good Giannis will still be, if he's still good at all. The "dominates by being an athletic freak" archetype doesn't age well, and usually falls off a cliff really fast.

Of course. The Rockets would most certainly entertain a deal for him. Most teams would.
If Giannis wants out, there will be plenty of offers for Milwuakee to consider.
For available talent, matching salaries and draft compensation, Houston would have to be high on the list.
The key is what Giannis wants.

The championship window with our team as is might be nonexistent.

Lol, good point. I think the hope is that a better opportunity presents itself that lines up a little better with our players both for timeline and fit. But yeah, if nothing ever comes along, I don't think there is any window with our current roster.

“Where did you get that they are building around Amen, Tari and Sengun?!”

He may be referring to a Brian Windhorst report? speculation? bbq sauces?

    Nov.15
    https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/st...vs-playoff-plans-warriors-rockets-trade-intel

Windhorst: Speaking of the Rockets and their potential place in the trade market, the message they are sending out is that they aren't interested in trading much of their young core right now. Draft steal Tari Eason, for example, has been drawing attention for the past year but has been labeled off limits, sources said. Same for last year's lottery pick Amen Thompson.

Rockets GM Rafael Stone has prioritized acquiring tough defenders in the draft and free agency -- Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet are examples -- and coach Ime Udoka is famous for demanding defensive accountability. Udoka's influence is often most powerful within games, team sources said. Film sessions and practice time are where most defensive coaching is done but Udoka's huddles during games are often eventful.

The result? The Rockets are 8-4 and third in the NBA in defensive efficiency. Nothing is written in granite in the NBA. Priorities shift and there are always forms of negotiation happening, but Houston likes its hand. For now.

Giannis is a bad fit next to Sengun.. if we replaced Sengun with Giannis our team would look better immediately but I doubt fans here nor the front office will deal Sengun in a trade for Giannis (even if he was available).

It's better if we prayed for the downfall of the Suns, the problem is they look a lot better this season than expected.. I don't like hoping for injuries but considering KD screwing us over all those Warrior years, if KD has a season-ending injury, the Suns might turn into a lottery team.

Also, another problem is the Suns front office has zero interest in tanking since it's already rumored that KD will ink an extension.

Another player to keep an eye on is Lamelo, there is some drama going on in Charlotte with their new coach benching Lamelo in a loss. He might be too much of a diva for Ime and the Rockets identity tho..

We could always just do nothing and see what happens to our young players but right now it does not look like Jabari or Jalen is our future starters at their positions. There's also the issue with FVV and his contract after this year.

I wonder how true this is. The Nets said they were building around Bridges, but then turned around and shipped him out of Brooklyn.

I'm surprised Iko held back. He would recommend we offer Alp,Eason, Sengun and 10 first round picks for Giannis
