We live in the real world, and being a brutal Russian as*hole to your neighbors has consequences. Instead of inward thinking, Putin simply did what Russia knows best, be a brutal as*hole to its neighbors. To Putin, Ukraine is a buffer zone with decent demographic, fertile land

Of course this is big power politics. China is lurking in the background, doing the best it can to toe the line with the West while preparing to invade Taiwan and expand their control of the Pacific. Illiberal World Order is making big power moves.

    Fundamental flaw in the questioning.

It presumes that Russia will escalate to WWIII and that position is accepted. Reaction to their aggression and unprovoked invasions is the cause of WWIII. It removes responsibility from Russia for starting the military engagement with their unprovoked invasions(note that it is plural)

Your presumption is that those invasions are acceptable and to be expected and that the ONLY variable is the reaction to that.

There in lies the problem. Russia's invasions were the first unprovoked military actions and reacting to those isn't what would bring about the start WWIII.

How is a Russia-NATO war a World War III? Because it's a coalition of 32 countries fighting one country? If that's the case, we already had WWIII with the Gulf War, but on an even bigger scale because it was a 42-country coalition vs Iraq.

Are you aware of the North Korean troop movement to the theater? This is spiraling out of control under this incompetent Biden regime. And Russia is taking land at a faster rate than at any point in the war. We need Trump to put an end to this foreign policy incompetence. Stop the forever war mongers that control DC.

Ukraine’s Zelensky says North Korea may send up to 100,000 troops to Russia

So this is how they get back at Trump after they got their asses handed to them, by starting WWW3? The walking corpse with dementia couldn’t even take a single question from the press. We all know who put Joementia up to this. January 20th cannot get here soon enough. The Dems and their deep state are truly a bunch of traitors and warmongers.

That illiberal World Order is in the best position it has been in year. With the incoming administration willing to cut deals with them and /or look the other way as they do what they want.

My relatives are already getting concerned what may happen to Taiwan in the next couple of years.

Russia stated they would use Nuke if NATO join the fight, if Russia took out NAOT units with tactical Nuke, would NATO respond in kind? Do you want to see if this type of escalation will lead to WW III?

Russia has been threatening nuclear attacks since the beginning of their war on conquest. Only weak minded folks think they are serious.

You going to hand over something every time a country threatens nukes?

Still not a world war. Saying WW III is rather hyperbolic and expressly infers that it’s a global conflict. Let’s keep things on the level, not fear monger and lead by example in discourse.

Russia has been saying they are about to use their nukes since they got nukes. They are notoriously constantly saber rattling so you can't take their words as action. Our intelligence is pretty good, and we have pretty decent surveillance of their nuclear facilities, and will know when they are gearing up to maybe use one of them.

And FYI we did find out that there was actually some talks within the Kremlin in the earlier days of the war to use a tactical nuke when Russia was really getting their butts handed to them, and there was some embarrassment about how poorly Russia was doing. I believe that was reported via our Pentagon sources.

So they know if it's getting serious or not so I wouldn't worry about what they say. What we SHOULD BE worrying about on this issue is Tulsi Gabbard being the DNI, and that having a horrible effect on our ability to get intelligence on what Russia is doing inside the Kremlin. There's a big risk there that she will be giving intel right back to the Russians because of how obviously compromised she is. If she is confirmed, its a guarantee that our sources go dark out of fear, and we are then making decisions on the Kremlin's nuclear movements solely based on satellite imagery one would imagine.

The real threat is NATO and the EU falling apart. As long as one or both stay together, everything is going to be ok. I can't estimate the probability, but its probably much higher than many realize.

Are you serious? Russia fired missles into Ukraine for years and the US told Ukraine not to fire back. That's pretty crazy. This is something that should have been allowed years ago. Trump loved the Putin love, but let's not pretend that Trump kowtowed to everything Russia. Under Trump, America abandoned START because Russia was violating it like crazy and we were just limiting out own nukes. We attacked Syria that was backed by Russia. We sent weapons to Ukraine and we sacntioned the hell out of Russia. It was a love talk with Putin, but a serious policy position against Russia. Unless you're swimming in MAGA world dystopia, giving Putin everything he wants everytime he says "if you don't let me, I'll nuke you" is not a legitimate policy.

    No Taiwan, no AI.

The bag of CHIPS the US opened here aren't the ones that will be found in Nvidia GPUs next year.

    [/QUOTE]

I don't know who this guy is (but obviously you are seemingly agreeing with him) but these takes are so over the top its just laughable. This is like everything you guys were whining about with Liberals and Trump and Trump Derangement Syndrome. Now you guys have Biden Derangement Syndrome, and acting like crazy people who overreact about everything as if it's the end of the world.

If Putin loves Trump so much and vice versa do you really think Putin is going to go to war with the United States now in order to just get back at a lame duck president for allowing Ukraine to counterattack??

In reality Putin would love for Ukraine to stage an attack that allowed him more political cover to escalate attacks on Kyiv. As long as Putin is safe in his bunker I don't think he gives two sh$t's about a few hundred Russians dying in a bombing from Ukraine.

I don't know exactly why Biden gave the green light now at this stage but it wasn't because he thought he could entangle the United States in a world war they couldn't get out of as soon as Trump took over and decided to give Putin everything he wants.

So @basso .... I just have to ask why the hell you have such insane BDS (Biden Derangement Syndrome)? What makes you so concerned that Biden is this grandmaster of evil who is going to destroy the world all the sudden?? Because the logic here in this case makes no sense.

Under this logic Israel counterattacking Hamas with an invasion of Gaza would be the equivalent of Biden also creating WW3 through supplying weapons to a proxy to counterattack someone who attacked them.

It's the same logic. But because Russia is Russia, and Palestine is well.... do I have to say it??.... the logic is lost because of skin color, geography, and nuclear warheads built mostly during the cold war.

2024.... The year of the Stupid and Logically Infallible.

Putin knows Trump is going to bend Ukraine over the barrel for him if he can wait 2 months. Why would we believe he is going to escalate to nukes now that he's on the cusp of victory? Tossing nukes only complicates Ukraine's negotiated surrender.
