This is absolutely correct. When Utah signed that contract with Lauri, he became a non-factor for the Rockets. It has been reported that Amen, Sengun, and Tari are untouchable for virtually anyone other than Jokic and they wouldn’t give up all 3 for him. They are absolutely going to make sure they have max money for Amen, and rightfully so.

Correct Booker is an excellent fit. Jalen and all the phoenix picks plus non-core filler. No one that needs Booker will have a better offer. If this happened tomorrow, Rockets would be in serious contention to come out of the West.

 

That’s a sweetheart deal. He would have to be in a funk or injured. I think even if he demanded a trade and we were the only name on his list we would have to include cam or reed with everything else. If we are lucky they will take green, Jabari, cam, all the picks and filler but I think they would want tari.

 

Booker is ass on defense, but yeah he's a pretty consistent offensive player for an average shooting guy so far this year (historically a much better shooter). I still get a kick out of what 3-4% points does for some people.

 

That 4% just matters an insane amount, even though it seems small. If Steph shot 38% instead of 42% from 3, he would not be the threat that is he, and would not cause the panic that he does. He would go from multiple time mvp and top 15 all time player to a 0 time mvp and just a good allstar level guy. Last years rockets went 41-41, if you increase their 3pt% by 4, that's an extra 1.5 points on the net rating which is 4-5 extra wins. Instead of 41-41 we're around 45-37

 

What do the stats say the trade off is on a complete lack of effort on defense?

Good. If you’re going to make a big trade, make one that complements Sengun, Amen, and Eason, not one that rips them apart.
