Flashback July 2024 The interior offensive line is part of the reason why the general public has concerns about Houston. Yet, the emergence of third-year guard Kenyon Green could catapult the line into the top tier. https://www.si.com/nfl/texans/houst...ne-revealed-by-pro-football-focus-texans-news
So did this... The start of training camp next week will unravel the developing offensive line group, but Houston’s front office appears confident it has the right players to protect Stroud. https://texanswire.usatoday.com/202...ate-of-houstons-offensive-line-entering-2024/
4 of our those 6 games are against teams with losing records. We should get to see a few more wins before playoffs start.
We're all so happy that Seven isn't getting thrown to the ground every other snap that we might be seeing a different grade than these dudes. I would have given them an 80 lol Anyone have the individual grades? Juice and Mason looked like they were being demolished live but at least they knew who to get demolished by. Positives.
Just means our OL is terrible, but not as terrible as earlier games... it's bad y'all. We're warped in our views.
Its going to take some time to build up the chemistry with the unit. It has performed better even if there are still signs of young player mistakes and blown assignments. I'd say that the first game off the bye should tell everyone what type of line we should expect for the playoffs. YTD grades after Cowboys game: Tunsil - 75.1 Scruggs - 63.8 Patterson - 58.9 Mason - 61.0 Howard - 71.0
They've been better than their ranking the last couple of weeks. As they play together more they should improve even further.
I know. That's why I would have given them an 80 placing them around 4th in that chart. But they see it differently.
Patterson's numbers are skewed because he hasn't played much. I thought he had a solid game Monday. I thought Monday was Mason's best game this year. I'm assuming these are PFF grades and I'm not a fan of PFF.
The next 2 games and the bye is like a get well tonic for the OL and the Texans offense as a whole. We have a tough slate of games after the bye and I believe we will solidify our status as real contenders by performing well for the rest of the year. Stroud was shell shocked and these next 2 games will help him re-gain his confidence. Our defense is absolutely elite when healthy. Lasiter and WA coming back is key.
That is true. We should really have a quick hit passing game this week and leave it up to our defense. We should win the TO battle demonstrably. My main concern is Slowik.
Their pass defense in general is elite. Will need CJ to stay on point and poised. I'd expect another heavy dose of Joe Mixon.
