All of that is true - my question is, how many of them have been successful economically removing 10,000,000 people - a majority of which are blue collar workers? The question of whether the US economy can be successful with immigration reform going forward is different than removing a large segment of the workforce. I highly doubt we see the changes that Trump promised on immigration because of the consequences- but time will tell.
Most of these first rate economies listed need America to consume their overproduced crap. Germany, China, Japan, and SK all run trade account deficits with the US and it's purely intentional. Krugman publicly talked about this 15 years ago, so it's not a new notion or idea. We're definitely at an inflection point, since globalization as it is isn't sustainable nor globally feasible (geopolitics...right wing populism in the West), but immigration should buttress productivity and demographics declines found in all first-rate economies. It's one of those things where no one has a solid answer, so I genuinely wish Trump the best if he's being real with it.
The Military WILL NOT follow that order, and CAN'T follow that order - it is an unlawful order......sorry Trumpy that isn't how the USA works. DD
Unfortunately it can be legal if Congress approves with a bill authorizing it. It just can't be done independently with just the order of the executive branch.
Ur a smart cookie .... read this mess you wrote and tell me you really believe that those people are coming here, staying a year, five or ten then leaving the comfort of America and going back to the place they fled from in the first place. Say that out loud with a straight face. The vast majority of those who "left" did so at their own funeral. Very few are "leaving" the USA otherwise. There were 12 million according to gubmint records in 2007. 11 million or more came in the last 3.5 years.
They can and will follow the order if he gives it. He has been elected twice now, the last time with a majority of the popular vote and over 300 electoral votes. He also has the Supreme Court on lock down - he has the congress and senate as well. He also will not appoint independent thinkers like he did his first term - he will appoint people that are grifters and want to profit off of being associated with Trump. You can either leave the country or deal with the fact that he will be able to do just about anything he wants to do for the next 2 to 4 years. He is the most powerful President since at least Reagan, and likely since FDR.
No they won't...they are trained to not follow an unlawful order...none of that you said matters, it is an unlawful order, and they won't fire on people in this country. DD
He will fire Generals who won't carry out his orders. He's already said that. He also appointed a Secretary of Defense who defended military personnel accused of war crimes.
First - how is it an unlawful order? It is a stupid order, but explain how it is unlawful when you have the Supreme Court, the Senate and the House. Second - who said anything about them firing on people in this country? The most likely scenario - assuming that Trump even actually does this, is to use the National Guard along with cooperation from local and state authorities and ICE. So, we will likely see more "raids" in places like Texas, where the POS governor will open them with open arms.
Can't speak for Nook, but I vaguely remember the "ones who left" also left behind the Dreamers Obama wrote EOs for? It's been awhile and I don't remember the numbers or details.
That's somewhere between 530k (actual dreamers) and ~3.5m (the estimated number of dreamers that aren't in the program). 3.5m people up and left their kids and went back to the countries they fled ..... when they had whgat amounts to an anchor baby here? I'm not buying it. Even if it is factual - look at the numbers: 2007 estimates 12 million in the country. Fast forward to the last 3.5 years where another estimated 11m+ have entered and the estimates are still 12 million? Are we just not going to count those that came in the decade plus between 2007 and 2020 .... and forget about the 12 million who came before 2007? That's some government math .... Broken. They don't come here just to go back
Homan confirms the U.S. armed forces will shoot people and then simply deport the dead bodies . . . much easier than rounding live people up Trump’s border czar Tom Homan clarifies exactly how military will be used for mass deportations, debunks frenzied liberal speculation https://nypost.com/2024/11/19/us-ne...-military-will-be-used-for-mass-deportations/
Where is 11M coming from? You know not everyone actually gets in right? And lots get sent back. And sometimes they are the same person multiple times. Many of the people may actually have some form of legal status. I don't know the actual number, but sure feels like randomly pulling numbers. 12M seems like a lot, but I'm sure it could be be more.
Just a quick google search - We're somehow supposed to believe that the number hasn't increased when we watched thousands come in daily over the past 3.5 years? There's still "Just 12m"?
