I do also get the sense that they have some issues behind the scenes but i kinda like them, i don't have any issues with them.
Meh. Hollins is tolerable. Occasionally annoying. I’d rather have a Houston legend — other than Clyde — be the color commentator.
I used to only ever listen to the Hornets announcers over the Rockets. With Hollins, I never listen to the Rockets broadcast if I can help it. Unfortunately there's occasions (like listening to the Spurs woefully homer announcers) where I have to choose listening to Hollis, and every single time it ruins the game for me.
I'm assuming you did not listen to the last 2 Clippers broadcasts? They were very much less than good.
This is wild to me. I love Bull forever as a member of our championship teams, but I never enjoyed him as a broadcaster. And I actually quite enjoy Ryan and Craig. I think they're the best broadcast team we've had since Bill and Calvin.
I'd rather a Houston legend if all things were equal. But with the obvious exception of Calvin, every time they have ever tried that it's been absolutely terrible. Clyde. Bull. Cynthia Cooper. Van Chancellor. All absolutely awful. And like, let's be real. We aren't getting Dream or Yao for that job. Who would it even be? The only guy who jumps out at me as someone who could easily pull it off (off the top of my head) is Shane Battier and I think he works for the Heat organization.
Hollins doesn't analyze anything. It's quite annoying to listen to him. I don't mind his laughs. That's the only time, when he's excited.
Anyone who is upset with our commentators, I dare you to watch a few games on the opponents broadcast. You may change your mind after that.
He's funny but I don't see him being able to remain in a full time broadcasting role. Even now, professionalism is not his strong suit.
