Seriously, his laugh after almost every highlight play is getting tiresome. He needs to find a new way to respond.
Both he and Ackerman are terrible. They need to fire both. Put Ackerman back on radio at least because Matt Thomas is the worst radio guy in the history of broadcasting.
I hope Ryan Hollins is not a long timer on the announcing team. At least he's better than Clyde, who was unlistenable for me. I'm fine with Craig. He's a longtime Houstonian who comes across to me as very authentic.
This thread is bs, they're both great. Almost every other NBA broadcast I listen to is a hundred times more boring
Listen to all the other team's broadcast crews. Hollins and Ackerman are very good actually, I enjoy and prefer the Rockets commentators over others when I have a choice.
I agree. I was thinking the other day that I think they have found a duo they can continue on with. So many other teams are HORRIBLE.
The laughing is nowhere near as bad as what Bill Worrell use to do with his "HOOOHHHH" after every highlight, and not knowing what to say and ruining iconic moments like the call on Harden's 61 point game. I think Akerman is great, especially when you go through league pass and see how bad most of the other team's announcers are. Hollins does feel like he is just an employee doing a job and not really a fan of the team or Houston. I think it is important to have someone who has ties to the city, and is a fan of all Houston sports. When Hollins asked Ackerman if he is a Texans fan, thats just an odd thing for Houston broadcasters to not even care about, the city or other teams that represent the city.

They're okay, but they don't seem to have good chemistry. I get the sense they may not even like each other.
Hollins is almost as bad as Spencer Tilman .... Just glad we are spared that torture after the preseason ends.
