On the trans issue I would take the “big government” argument if I was the Dem running in 2026 or 28. Meaning I would say (and I actually do believe) that the federal government has no right to dictate at that level decisions that should be made at the local level. Coaches, principals, the superintendent, and the school board if necessary along with the parents are fully capable of rendering a case by case decision on the rare chance that a trans student decides to play a sport where there could be a disadvantage. As long as there is no violation of discrimination there shouldn’t be an issue. Make the big government overreach argument and argue for empowering decisions with parents, and the schools. For professional sports make the argument that in a capitalist system you get the choice as a consumer to not give your money to the WNBA if they let Dwight Howard put a wig on and play for the Liberty.

the issue i have with you @glynch @dobro1229 is that you pretend the biden admin wasn't the most economical populist we've ever had. They bent over backwards for unions and labor and got zero upside from their pro labor agenda. Joe Biden literally issued the largest union bailout in American history to the tune of 40 billion dollars. The bailout saved millions of pensions and in return the same union voted for trump even though biden gave them a huge check of money. Harris was the tie breaking vote on the bailout. Biden literally handed millions of people a blank check and the same morons turned around and voted for trump cuz of trans issues. This is why I hate morons like bernie sanders bcz they're delusional and don't understand the root of the problem. Until democrats pivot hard on culture war issues and meet voters where they are they won't win another election.

So the best way to destroy the culture wars is someone competent with quick rhetorical wit and debate who is aggressive and has no issue with burning bridges go on these type of shows and call out hosts like Joe Rogan as frauds who gaslight his audience into caring about stupid **** while his buddies like Peter Theil raid your country hollow. An aggressive attack on these right wing grifter influencers and completely and utterly destroying their credibility is really the only option. Many of these people will yield easier than you think also because many of them don't have strong convictions in what they spew on their platforms and therefore are not ideological driven. As a local coach and referee of a sport I’ve made the exact same point. I will also add the vast majority of competitions are played on the local level. For these competitions we don’t have the resources or funding to do things like books testing to see if someone in the gender they claim them to be. The only way we could do so is to have them show us their genitalia. I doubt any other parents here of youth athletes want referees and tournament officials checking the genitalia of their kids just so they can play peewee soccer. I’ve said I will resign if I’m legally compelled to do that.
