Wasserman Schultz says Gabbard ‘likely a Russian asset’

    https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4993196-wasserman-schultz-says-gabbard-likely-a-russian-asset/

    excerpt:

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said that former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, President-elect Trump’s pick for national intelligence director, is “likely a Russian asset.”

“There’s no question I consider her someone who is likely a Russian asset,” Wasserman Schultz said on MSNBC on Friday.
There's no question Gabbard has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation

Russians are the bugaboo du jour. Ol' Deb is just playing her part.

Politics under democracy consists almost wholly of the discovery, chase and scotching of bugaboos. The statesman becomes, in the last analysis, a mere witch-hunter, a glorified smeller and snooper, eternally chanting “Fe, Fi, Fo, Fum!” It has been so in the United States since the earliest days. The whole history of the country has been a history of melodramatic pursuits of horrendous monsters, most of them imaginary: the red-coats, the Hessians, the monocrats, again the red-coats, the Bank, the Catholics, Simon Legree, the Slave Power, Jeff Davis, Mormonism, Wall Street, the rum demon, John Bull, the hell hounds of plutocracy, the trusts, General Weyler, Pancho Villa, German spies, hyphenates, the Kaiser, Bolshevism. The list might be lengthened indefinitely; a complete chronicle of the Republic could be written in terms of it, and without omitting a single important episode.

    Mencken, 1926.

Clinton suggested the same back in 2019. I don't think she's a Russian asset, but maybe she is being indirectly boosted by them in some way like other conservative media folks. I just don't understand what her qualifications are to be head of intelligence.

this is a tricky allegation to keep making, particularly of a veteran, if you don't have explicit proof and don't want it to start being bantied about to both parties

This is one of those things where people making the allegation should **** or get off the pot.

There is likely more Russian money flowing into republican groups like the NRA than democrat but that alone shouldn't be enough to throw around accusations to every person with different views.

    Pretty much in agreement.

Her statements and positions have definitely been pro-Russia. Her campaign did receive a very small donation from a Russian agent.

A Russian asset wouldn't even need to be aware they were an asset.

Who knows. I haven't seen any proof she is a Russian asset. And it is ridiculous for people to make that claim without proof. People should stop claiming that unless they can show the evidence.

I'm pro- "assuming she's a bad faith grifter paid off by a Russians."

And I have no issue with being wrong about it with people like her. The moment you start expressing talking point so knowingly don't sincerely believe in to obtain power and clout is the one t I encourage people hurling fake accusations towards you.

Tulsi Gabbard doesn't believe for example that the GOP is the party of "free speech". I know she doesn't believe that bs. I know she doesn't believe that "censorship of Hunter biden's dick lost Trump he election".

So ya I'm fine with assuming she's a Russian asset. It makes a lot of sense given her grifter nature.

And please people do not defend her merely because she's a veteran unless you are just saying Democrat leaders shouldn't do it because it's bad optics in our stupid country with ours stupid electorate.

Agree on the fact that I don't like either here but Tusli obviously is bigger fish as she is important now and Washerman is fading into he background along with the rest of the Clinton wing of the party.... I hope.

My point is, it's better to just wait until there is proof. Better to not turn in to a Boy Who Cried Wolf situation.

Does it destroy any political capital to cry wolf?

I'm going to be on the default assumption that right wing media will always strawman and clip chimp out the worst possible bad faith interpretations of what people say so the narrative of anyone who actually is dumb enough to like Tulsi already is of the mindset that wolf crying is going on.

So it doesn't matter. There is no harm when MAGalA cries wolf.

Yes the right wing media will. But it does destroy capital to cry wolf. If we want people and/or government to take action on Russian meddling, then we should be accurate as much as possible. People who a rightfully upset and impassioned can bring about pressure for government action. But if people either don't beleive it or are you unsure they won't have the needed energy to make their voices heard.

I agree, its better to lay low after lying non stop about Trump and MAGA... At this point anything coming out of Democrats camp should be considered bs... Which this is, Tulsi is a real one... Trump so far is doing a fantastic job.... Excited for the future...

I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Trump and/or his team met with Russian agents to make a deal for help winning the 2016 election. Trump's campaign did give information on unsuspecting US citizens to Russian agents.

People from Trump's campaign were convicted of crimes dealing with working with Russian agents.

Which parts do you feel were lies?

    She's a Russian asset. That doesn't mean she's a Russian agent.
