My favorite part of the game, I've been saying this. Sengun playmaking out of the post is the key. He had 10 assists tonight, too.
Udoka is the exact coach that Alperen needed to develop his defense. So proud of him man. He was virtually perfect tonight. Unreal. Casuals will point to Jabari, but it was Alperen who controlled everything.
He was great. Amazing defense and rebounding, finally being used as a passer. Probably the healthier stat line for him is something like 20/12/8 rather than 25/9/5, which is what he usually did last year.
Agreed 100%. We don't need his post-ups as much as we need a massive increase in his general involvement. (Princeton)
What a difference it makes when his team mates hit their open 3s. Sengun gets doubled and he kicks it out, simple but effective.
Last month I posted in a turkish forum that Alpi should forget about being an allstar and should focus on team success. Apparently he read it and adjusted his game accordingly. His attitude change elevated his teammates game and resulted with multiple wins. It is fair to say that Houston owes big part of the recent success to me.
Pretty sure Alpi still wants to be an all star. But it's great to see him expanding his game instead of relying on his strengths. Also a good team record might increase his chances of making the all star game.
I expected Sengun to take a jump in ppg, but I’d be totally fine if he became a triple-double machine instead.
Absolutely. Would benefit the team. 19/11/7-9 assists along with 1.5 blocks and 1 steal would be elite for the team
Seems he's taking Ime's criticisms to heart and working on becoming a true two-way, well-rounded player. Kind of inevitable that if he's putting his energy and focus into defense, rebounding, passing that his scoring will suffer a bit. In the future you'd hope that he can combine all of the above. Love seeing his rebounding and shotblocking numbers spike like this though, not gonna lie.
