One of my favorite plays of the night was Bari driving down the lane and slamming it w authority. He needs to be more physically aggressive like this. He’ll continue to build strength and muscle, but he’s already big enough to do this more often rathwr than always settling for perimeter shots.

Do we still need James Harden instead of Fred VanVleet and Kevin Porter Jr instead of Jalen Green?

Smith must be on ClutchFans. We have been writing his obituary and he decided to prove us wrong. He has still "got it."

Man I’m loving the way this team is playing right now. So much more sweet considering all those God awful post Harden years and the Rockets basically playing like an AAU team with 0 discipline.

Go Rockets! Keep this up and let’s make some noise in the playoffs!

Yeah I would still rather have him than Fred. Fred isnt the reason we are winning games.

Man what a great night for him. Someone else every night. Team defense culture **** that makes me cry watching lol. My favorite brand of basketball.

I was in the building for both titles. Insanely lucky and both squads were so special.

But then there are those squads that leak into your soul cause they work so hard. Harder than most in pro sports where it would be easy not to work so hard. Vernon playing with a chip on his shoulder. Larry Smith filling in for an anemic Dream. Among my favorite Rocket squads was that 1990/91 squad that had to bust ass to make the playoffs with Dream out down the stretch. They lost to the Lakers in the first round. Same lakers that won the conference and lost to the first Jordan title team.

Man I ****ing loved that Rockets squad that year. Mother falcon DOGS! Didn’t back down to anyone. That’s culture.

it’s why I loved Rudy (who was not the coach in 90/91 btw!). And it’s why I love Ime. Getting guys paid that much to play hoops to play hoops like that ain’t easy. Takes work and leaning into other human beings and holding people accountable when it would be easier just to say ok and give ‘em a pass.

I really really like this squad.

Teams can’t punk sengun in pnr on defense. I think that’s one of the biggest changes on defense this year

Jabari looking like the real Jabari!!

If he just plays with confidence, he opens up so much of the floor that our guys can penetrate with impunity.

Today’s the first day I was a little displeased with anything Tari did, in the first half he was a little all over the place and didn’t play intelligently…but boy did he make up for it in the second half!

Also, I loved how we guarded James all night, they kept trying to switch different defenders on him, but not once did any of our guys fall for his tricks to get fouls, and we forced him into a bunch of bad misses.

Shooting comes and goes, but this kind of defensive effort ensures that we’re ALWAYS in it, and we have the personnel to pull out those tough wins more often than not

If this is really who we are… it was worth all the pain. This is beautiful to watch.
