My thoughts exactly. He isn't worth the 30-40 games he is going to give us each season. Dude is 33 and just had surgery on both of his ankles.
No thanks. We don't need another injured player. PS: My mistake, I didn't realize he is healthy and playing well. The Blazers are 5-8 with a big home win over the Wolves. Why would they want Tate and another pick?
Won two in a row against the wolves. I’m not sure what happened but idk if it says more about the wolves or the pacers.
What would y'all give to land Cam Johnson? Any interest? He's having a really good season and is locked up through 2027. We desperately need spacing. Something like Bari, Tate, their 2027 swap, and maybe a little more?
Lol Sengun is never going to be Giannis. This is a wild take. Y’all overvalue our players like crazy.
Where did I say he was going to be Giannis? Don't put words in my mouth. The overarching point is that Sengun + all that it would take to get Giannis is too much. I'm hoping to pair a major trade target with Sengun, not trade him away for one. I swear, it's like people on this forum can't read sometimes.
Giannis probably won’t even be available, but if he is, you’re crazy for not wanting to do whatever it takes to land a top 5 player in the game. He would instantly put this team into actual contention. There isn’t going to be a better player available, and even if there is, it’s going to hurt trading for them. And yes, you’re overrating our players when your talking about any of them being “too much” for a guy averaging 33/12 and has led a team to a title already.
I mean, maybe Giannis lifts us to near contender status for...what? Three years? Then we'll be left without any draft capital and without our best young prospect. While he's been great offensively, his defensive is already tanking. Not to mention we'd have to trade for him in the offseason, so he'd be 30 with only two years left on his contract. To me, IF you are trading for Giannis, it makes more sense to trade for him at the deadline for an Amen-centered package. I just don't think a trade of Sengun + all our picks + more for a 30 year old Giannis on a two year contract is worth it.
By the way, you can claim I overvalue Sengun all you want @Htown Stros -- Sengun is currently fifth in PIE among starters, only behind Giannis, Jokic, AD, and Shai. He's an incredibly valuable young player. If anything, I think you're undervaluing him.
I’d be cool with that too. It pretty much has to be Sengun or Amen going out because we can’t have three guys who can’t shoot getting 30+ minutes a game.
Nah, I love Sengun and he’s my favorite current player. I just don’t think it’s realistic to think we can send out Jalen Green and Jabari like everyone here is hoping in a trade for a MVP caliber player. Any trade for a Giannis type talent is going to hurt. And as much as I love Sengun, I don’t think we have a MVP caliber player in the future on this roster and you can’t win a championship without one.
Jabari, Cam, Brooks, Jeff Green or landale and Tate and picks should be attempted for Giansis portis and umude
I want someone to explain how. Seriously. Jalen counts as 13 mil for us and 30 mil for the Bucks. We’d be sending out like 25 mil and taking back 45.
So… why aren’t the Bucks instant contenders right now then? And in the East at that. Giannis is amazing, I’d trade a lot for him but he doesn’t fit just on any team. You have to build around him.
NBA doesn't want teams to exploit extensions. As such, the receiving team takes the extension value as that is the primary value they are receiving. The sending team gets to take back the amount of the existing contract as that is what they are actually losing.
