Pete was a great cabinet choice. It's insulting to even pretend he was a DEI hire. Dr. Levine is certainly qualified. I understand people who are anti-trans would be bothered by her. Press Secretary isn't a cabinet position, but once again, Jean-Pierre is very qualified for that job. Sam Brinton was nowhere near a cabinet position, but was definitely a questionable hire. I don't think they were an appointee, but there are so many it hard to know.
If people are mad and pissed at the pick, then it was a good one. The establishment doesn't deserve to be happy. So far that's Matt Gaetz, Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr., and Pete Hegseth.

He's not the first cult of personality to have done that. Such people aren't dumb, but they aren't brilliant strategiests either. They just know how to sell really well.
