BTW there were interesting comment in the threads re the dignity of college educated vs non-college educated jobs in Europe and as the US had up until 1980 and the take over of government by Reaganite and their imitators, the moderate Democrats. Why not mention the type of measures such as greatly increased minimum wage. To pay for the types of bebefits needed to make non-college jobs better for the family life we need , increased taxation of the rich, especially the very rich, and l stop expensive unnecessary military wars and "defense" spending to help fund free tuition for college or trade schools, a mandatory benefit packages or social programs to provide to everyone benefits equivalent to what many college educated/professional jobs provide with respect to vacation, family leave, quality health insurance, retirement benefit like matching 401 k's et.
Biden was the most progressive POTUS in the past 50 years. He reversed neoliberalism and pushed for a workers agenda. His NLRB was the most pro union agency in recent history. His FTC filed more lawsuits to break up corporations than any point in history. There was zero upside. Voters didn't give a ****. What you lefties don't grasp @fchowd0311 is the only thing that matters now is who has the better media channels and propaganda. Until dems play dirty and expand their messaging they'll never win
I'm pretty sure I've made repeated posts post election, especially when some Democrat like Seth Moulton(my literal US rep btw) blame trans people and the "woke agenda" for the loss, that for millions of Americans, what the Democrats campaign on doesn't matter because those people learn about what Democrats campaign about through right wing filtered social media feeds and social media influencers spamming content about "the trans agenda" 24/7. Democrats do not control what millions of people think about them. Democrats need to learn that.

Ya Seth. Democrats ran on old school "small businesses at is the backbone of America" bs while saying stuff like "I will make sure we have the most lethal military on the planet" while doting around the Cheneys. I couldn't tell the difference between the Harris campaign and W Bush's 2004 campaign. Seth Moulton needs a basic lesson in understanding that his right wing peers are not in good faith expressing what Democrats campaign on.
here is a submission for the dipsh-t moron thread, you dipsh-t. Certain groups in CF are capable of having disparate views and discussing the issues. Other groups - read, yours - are utterly incapable of actual rational or independent thought or deviation from the hymn book that Trump requires. So go ahead, move along, this is the adult table.
There was upside. It was the right thing to do and he was incredibly effective at doing it. Maybe (?) some of that work will remain in place, even if others take credit it. Agree with you on messaging. Interesting article in the New Yorker about "ambient" messaging and how poorly democrats understand it. My whinging about posted Xeets underlines how out of touch I am with the 21st century info-sphere. But ya know... a leopard, spots... America... no country for thinking men. https://www.newyorker.com/news/the-lede/republican-victory-and-the-ambience-of-information
It is going to take a cult of personality type figure to break the mold for the democrats and have electoral success before the Democrats venture into what you are discussing as far as focus and messaging. That tends to happen when things are going bad for a party - and then the figure emerges. Right now you have the last of the Clinton and Obama tree holding hard onto power - but that is slipping away. I also firmly believe that someone will emerge, they will likely be extremely media friendly - and they will be wildly popular because the time is coming soon for a move away from the last decade of politics........ the Republicans are basically advertising that they are an oligarchy with people like Musk, Thiel and others so deeply involved. Until that happens - there will be continued efforts to mute large parts of the Democrats by other Democrats.
I can tell by the amount of times you go on tweet spam binges after someone insults your way of life.
I am going to laugh when Vance calls out the 25th amendment on Trump.......as he is incompetent.... DD
I would love to see Fetterman move up the ranks, he`s a dude`s dude who doesn't conform to the norm and isn't afraid to call BS out from the left.
He also "tells it like it is" from the right when it comes to foreign policy at least. I don't like him. But if that is what it takes then sure I guess. I've voted my entire adult life for candidates I don't really care for much but understand the consequences if the other party holding power.
8 years ago I would have said "Jon Stewart should run for president" in a half joking manner. But today, I think he represents the best representation of "outsider" from the liberal/left side. He isn't radical to the point of being outside the overton window in the eyes of legacy media and the establishment part of the Democrat party. And I think he has mass appeal and is at the very least "likeable" for the wide majority of this country. People who don't agree with all his politics still see him as likeable. I mean I doubt he ever says yes but I think this is the best the liberal/left has in terms of a "cult of personality" type that has mass appeal and isn't seen as crazy. He definitely is more left than traditional Democrats but not so far left the party would reject him.
What the Bernie Bros don't acknowledge is that their guy got 43% of the Democratic Primary vote in 2016. It wasn't superdelegates - actual voters rejected him and chose a more moderate candidate. He seems like a genuine person who says what he means - the problem is those ideas aren't popular in the mainstream. There's not a "younger Bernie Sanders" who is going to push the progressive left over the top - the progressive platform itself isn't popular and isn't winning elections.
