Dept of Ed doesn't set education policy. That is done locally and at a state level. Maybe you should learn what they do

The department identifies four key functions:

Establishing policies on federal financial aid for education and distributing as well as monitoring those funds.

Collecting data on America's schools and disseminating research.

Focusing national attention on key educational issues. They focus on issues. They do not set educational policies.

Prohibiting discrimination and ensuring equal access to education.

Hopefully we can keep good regulations .

Let's hope Vivek and Elon don't get too caught up with the dichotomy of regulation=bad .... Given they are both businessmen I'm a bit worried that they do.

#1 - you need regulation to ensure competitive markets as a backbone of capitalism.

#2 - sure we may pay a "cost" for environmental and food regulations in that companies have to have quality control up to a certain standard or swap from the cheapest input to a safer , more expensive one .... But these are instances where the opportunity cost is actually in favor of regulation. The cost of polluted water/air or unsafe food is far greater than a few cents per meal.

Conservatives are in favor of smaller government, so am I generally. But , the government needs to have enough power and effectiveness to do its job regulating the market and bearing the cost of some of these negative externalities

I have a bit of a problem with this illustration.
The dog is either a Shiba-Inu, or a Corgi.

That dog should be an Alaskan Husky.
Got to have an American dog to represent Murka.
