Type 2 Diabetics like me can't do beer or sugar infused liquor. And I never developed a real taste for scotch or whiskey. And gin and Tequila are the drinks of the devil.
Neither have been targeted very much, clearly, we have an estimated 10-12 million persons in the country illegally right now and,by and large, no arm of the judicial system bothers them.
Which is my point. Those hiring have not been targeted. All the focus seems to be on getting rid of those doing the work. None of the focus is on those hiring undocumented workers.
I don't have any particular interest in defending companies hiring practices vis-a-vis illegal immigrants. If you want to fine them. Fine them. They will probably just consider it a cost of doing business or get smarter about it.
Well, it is a crime for them to do so. I thought the whole point was to enforce the law to help have a more secure border. Cutting down on illegal hiring will greatly reduce the influx of undocumented workers.
I got that. I was just saying if the whole point is to stop undocumented workers from illegally entering the nation then it should be addressed from all angles, and not just the one angle
Folks like I've been saying for a week, it's not enough for the white nationalists to seize power, you have to like them and agree with them and treat them in the way they specify! Spoiler (Psst - you actually don't - f all the white nationalists and their apologists and normalizer b****es all the way to hell )
Yes - for the last 25 years we have had roughly 9-12 million illegal immigrants in the USA. From year to year some come and go, but overall it has been pretty stable for over two decades. No arm of the judicial system bothers them unless they are caught committing a violent crime.... and that has largely been the case through both democrats and republicans in office. Why? It is hard to scoop up people that are illegal, the number of illegals has been consistent..... the cost of apprehending illegal aliens is very high .... their crime rates are relatively low .... they are willing to work in conditions and job sites and for amounts that Americans are not.... they help keep the cost of goods and services low.
Sure. There are many ways to go about it. For instance, ending sanctuary cities would help in this regard as well. Sanctuary cities encourage illegal immigration and do not cooperate with enforcing federal immigration laws.
What is a sanctuary City to you? From my understanding it's simply a city where the local law enforcement doesn't do any immigration enforcement and leave it up to the federal government. They don't even interfere with ICE agents in the city. They just don't work with them. That's all And for local cops who are mostly right wing and Trump supporters in these sanctuary cities like it that way. They don't want people to scatter into hiding when trying to find witnesses to a crime for example. Their job becomes significantly harder if they have to do immigration enforcement also.
Not exactly. In general, Sanctuary cities do enforce federal immigration laws. What they don't do is turn over undocumented immigrants who come forward to report other crimes. The idea is that communities will be safer if the people that live in those communities aren't afraid to come forward.
It depends on city to city. From my understanding is some cities don't do any immigration enforcement themselves. But don't interfere with entities like ICE when they come in.
Sanctuary cities by their very nature 100% encourage illegal immigration. They are holding themselves out as cities which will not enforce federal immigration law and favorably lend themselves to illegal immigrants. That's the whole point of their self given designation. Some sanctuary cities law enforcement do not cooperate with ICE. This encourages illegal immigrants to come there.
