Cereal and milk are dirt cheap. Where the hell are you shopping? Cereal is $2 at Kroger pretty much all the time and milk is about $3. Dairy Farmers have been losing so much money and in a crisis for so long.
While high prices were exaggerated for many things there is no doubt that the increase in prices post pandemic greatly hurt Harris’ chances. Those though aren’t going to come down and very likely will increase. Especially housing and insurance. There is nothing in Trump’s policies that will reduce prices and most will exacerbate them.
George W. Bush and Trump aren't exactly liked. They filled a need . But you are right that somehow the Democrats only prevail when their candidate is somehow well accepted......whereas the Republican candidate only has to be somewhat present. The Democratic side has to deliver more than the Republicans. That means this is still a conservative country.
W and Trump both won primaries. They were liked enough to get nominated by the GOP. And then to get elected as president. Twice. Kamala dropped out of the 2020 primaries before voting even started.
Ok.....maybe I should have worded it the other way......both were not ideal role models. Maybe Kamala was not either but at least she was among women and had somewhat a clean record (if you don't believe the Diddy records) Did not follow primaries. So that is why I cannot fully evaluate this .....the media is indeed inaccurate.......so who knows. I believed them enough that it was a close race.....turned out they were wrong.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say GWB isn't well liked. He has a normal or perhaps less then normal amount of personal failings and faults. He got a DUI in 1976 and skipped out on Vietnam but nothing crazy. People may not like his policies or the policies of his administration but personally, he is from everything I've seen, heard and experienced, a gentlemen, funny, thoughtful, measured in his speech, dignified, stately, kind and charming. I think most people who know him or have dealt with him like him very much. He isn't anything like Trump.
People do not like GW's policies and right now he may be the most unpopular President in modern history because a lot of conservatives do not like him at this point. Having said that - you will not find many people that know him, that do not like him as a person. He is exceptionally good at one-on-one interactions with people. He remembers people's birthdays, names and everything else.
Not huge into political poo flinging. Find myself more balanced than most. I think that for Trump to get reelected, it really showed a few things… 1. The short memory of many. People went to vote and I think a lot of them based their decision off of the current economy. I’m not saying it’s entirely fair that Biden is blamed for the current economy but they (fairly/unfairly) remembered 2016-2019. Things like insurance rates are definitely crazy. Mine went up $400 this year alone. Not to mention the fact that houses are generally unaffordable. 2. Biden And the people around him made a critical error and running for a second term. Those that were close to him, that would’ve noticed him cognitively slipping should’ve said something much earlier. This us truly damning IMO. 3. Girl on girl hate. I didn’t think about this at first, and it mostly comes from my wife’s observations. Women Aren’t as inclined to vote for women as you would generally think. 4. Trump sells. Don’t really like the guy and I think he has done many questionable things that should’ve made him un-electable. That being said, He moved the needle on so many data points. It is just crazy.
