Trump just named Tom Homan the new border czar. He thinks he can cleanup the border mess in 60- 90 days. His words not mine, Is anybody willing to comeback and help me cleanup this mess? Lets fix this ****.
The thing about border security and illegal immigration... 99.9% of the touch point maga voters have with this issue is through their social media feeds and not actual experiences in real life with negative interactions with migrants. This creates a situation where good pr can make it seem like a president is doing something about the border. Say the border is secured finally and no MAGA douche would know better. 60 days into Trump's presidency he probably will claim victory over a secure border finally regardless of whether a single thing was done and why wouldn't he? It's the smart thing to do in his shoes. He knows his voting base will just see their social media feed tell them the border is secured and that's enough for MAGA voters. The point of the harsh anti-migrant rhetoric from the GOP and maga movement isn't so they can permanently kick out these migrants. Hell no, GOP politicians love cheap labor. Hell no they want them all locked out. The point of make migrants scapegoats is that when you dehumanize a powerless class like migrants, the more leeway you have in abusing them and their labor without pushback. And it's better for politicians if their voting base has an outsider enemy to concentrate on rather than themselves as something to complain about or hate.
the leopard face eating has already begun somebody posted online why they voted for Trump and said “I just voted for Trump because he’s gonna kill Obamacare. I’m unemployed and Obamacare fcking sucks. I’d rather just have the ACA by itself instead of this communism sh*t” replies were like “Obamacare IS the ACA. It is literally keeping you alive ret*rd. You voted to take away your healthcare.”
I don't believe so, I don't think Trump is organized enough or competent enough to make it really happen....the logistics would be immense. DD
Just bought some eggs at the grocery store. It feels like I’m paying less this morning. And the winning continues!
Trump understands reality TV, and I think he'll decide that "The Deportation Show" is what is important vs what is actually happening in a widespread fashion. Rest assured though "The Deportation Show" will be a disgusting show that will be a stain on our country for generations... and that stain will be deserved by the American people who voted for a criminal who was promising to give them that show. I do think camps similar to the child separation camps will be once again erected since it was incredibly easy to have those setup last time, and the cruelty will be on display. That being said, the main thing Trump really wants is for "the elite" to bend the knee so I could see a big show of CEO's of meatpacking plants, and big farming corporations having some sort of temporary immunity for the immigrants that work for the companies that bend the knee to Trump. Expedited green cards for those workers etc. Overall though yes it'll be a mess, and a stain on this country (as if electing a criminal isn't enough of a stain). Illegal immigrants will still be here, and since there's no money allocated through Congress for immigration reform, Trump will either have to leave the system as it which does allow for illegal immigrants to still come here if they really want to, or he'll have to use the military as a border police force for a long expensive period of time. Other option is he diverts funds away from FEMA, or other social security type of projects or uses money from DOE after he shuts that down. All of those are politically a disaster long term unless Congress bails him out. Either way, America is about to get what it asked for, and I can't say I feel sorry for the un-informed that voted against their self interests, and the interest of living in a free society. Those days are gone, and we just now have to sit back and watch the sh#t show.
Huh.... you just elected a criminal. By definition people who break the law are rewarded in America. If you think the lesson learned here will having anything to do with respect for the rule of law you are very misguided in your theory of America.
The silver lining with the immigration hate fest is that 99.9% of the touch points people who b**** about illegal immigration all the time have with actual illegal immigrants are through their social media feeds or whatever political influencer they trust. This means yes there is a way that a lazy Trump admin might just make the mass deportation thing just a show they can feed to their base's social media accounts and a year later say the border crisis has ended.
As part of the electorate, you elected him too. You should have donated or campaigned for Kamala more. I didn't do my part in 2020.
Well if you support punishing J6ers and enforcing the law, I'm sure you'll have no problem punishing people who violate our immigration laws correct?
Well you support enforcing the law when it comes to Trump, DD... so, surely, you'll have no problem enforcing the law when it comes to people violating our immigration laws right?
You can't fix stupid. I did my part, and no amount of gaslighting by people like you will make me sleep any less well at night. Seriously though... is that like your only move?? Is that the only trick you think you have?? You are so predictable, and pretty pathetic.
Undocumented Texans Paid $4.9 Billion in State and Local Taxes in 2022 Undocumented immigrants pay federal taxes too but are denied many benefits. Undocumented Texans contribute to federal taxes and may help lower the federal deficit by a net $0.9 trillion over the next 10 years. Yet a substantial portion of their contribution goes to payroll taxes, which fund the major social insurance programs they are barred from accessing. In 2022, undocumented immigrants nationwide paid $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes, $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes, and $1.8 billion in unemployment insurance taxes. Despite contributing nearly $34 billion to the U.S. social safety net, undocumented Americans are unable to access that support. https://everytexan.org/2024/08/06/u...4-9-billion-in-state-and-local-taxes-in-2022/
