They certainly don’t play like a team offensively. Too many 2 man games. Not enough ball rotation. Too much handling from the point.

Isn’t Zach Edey coming off the bench now? On the Grizzlies, right? Please, If you love him so much, go be a Grizzlies fan. You POFs for players that aren’t even on the Rockets sicken me.

Reed Sheppard is a Houston Rocket. Let’s support him!

It's too early to tell for Reed, Ime just needs to tell him he needs to shoot every open 3 he gets. He's too passive on that end.

As for Jabari.. dude is a bust in terms of becoming a star. I don't think it'll ever happen at this point, he just doesn't have it in him.

It's a good example of you can have all the work ethic in the world but without that pure talent, you'll never become one.

People say our rebuild has been a "success" but has yet? We were not able to draft a franchise player in any of our years and we were unlucky on a couple of them in terms of drafting an all-star.

Hard to call Reed a bust cause the whole draft is just incredibly bad. Edey had one great game against a tiny team, a couple of decent ones and looked like can't play Kanter in the others. Aside from him, everyone else straight up sucks. The 2nd best is probably Bub Carrington. Can't really be a bust if every sucks.

    I am waiting Reed's 1st 10+ pts game.

It's embarrassing for 3rd pick that only getting 3.4 pts per game.

As elite shooter and 3 rd pick, 3.4 pts per game is unacceptable.

I know the fool Udoka didn't play him much time, but still....

In the end it would not be bad but just a draft class with a lot of role players.......who might just score 15 ppg a game at best.

I am recalling that most draft experts already said that......which I am fine with.

Would be great if you end up with 2 Derrick Whites.

I think Stone gets more credit than he deserves for his supposed draft prowess, and I agree that Jalen and Bari are not close to top 3 in their draft class. But I wouldn’t call them outright busts. Jalen could go on to be an all star one day and Bari could become a really good player. But those picks certainly haven’t paned out great.

I really like Whitmore and think he is immensely talented, but he’s the epitome of a ball hog. I look at him and think, if he gave a damn about feigning team basketball, he’d be looking like the absolute steal of the draft. It’s still year 2 for Whitmore, so he has ample time to tone down the ball hog, but I haven’t seen much effort to defer to the game plan.

He is very inexperienced. Giving up on Cam would be really stupid. He is our youngest player and has plenty of time to improve. He might not have the BBIQ to become a good team player, we just don’t know yet. He certainly has the physical talent to be a good NBA player. Only time will tell whether he has the mental make-up.

Sheppard is kind of the opposite. He looks to have the mental aspect of the game in spades, but does he have the physical talent to be good in the NBA. Time will tell. Personally, I think the odds of Cam becoming a starting NBA player are better than Sheppard’s, but who the hell knows. I hope they both are great eventually. They just are not rotation worthy right now.

So, Reed is the Bryce Young of the NBA?

There's not really a question of Reed's physical talent....he's a PG, and has more physical talent and athleticism than most of the top PG's of all time.

I think the confusion comes from some who think that every basketball player should be a super athletic 6'7 wing because the flash is easier for them to see than actual basketball talent.

Cam has the super athleticism, but he has an awful attitude and has no clue when it comes to the mental side of the game. Obviously he could mature and turn things around.....but just as easily his immaturity and low BBIQ could be fatal flaws.

With Reed, he's doing fine given the small amount of playing time he's had and the fact that the team doesn't run anything for him. He's not a guy that is going to chuck up bad shots or do the ball hog thing....and to a certain type of basketball fan, they see that as a bad thing.

As of now, I don't see anything about Sheppard's game preventing him from being a long term plus starter.

That is extreme Hyperbole about Sheppard’s athleticism. He has not been able to get any separation at all from his defenders. He has been a slow decision maker and a deer in the headlights running the offense. I have some hopes for him as a rotation worthy player at some point, but he is being gifted minutes not earning them, just like your sworn enemy.

It's hilarious that you choose to go the projection route.

    He's not a wing, he's a PG.

Do guys like Steph or CP3 beat people off the dribble? I happen to remember that the only separation Steph could get came from moving screens for years.

Also, slow decision maker? Lol GTFOH, you aren't even trying to be taken seriously with that BS.

Honestly, do you even watch real basketball at all or just play video games and watch highlights?

With Chet and Paolo it's hard not to be disappointed in Bari but at the same time he's not anywhere close to a bust.

He'll be a solid role player and 4th or 5th option who provides great switchable defense in a really good team which is disappointing for a 3rd pick overall but busts don't have long productive NBA careers which Im pretty confident Bari will have.

Reed is just way to early to say anything about that dude.

The lie of Bari having work ethic needs to stop.

I'd say Reed still has a lot of promise. He has improved defensively and is making smart plays. He just needs to be more aggressive offensively, which is probably the easiest problem to fix for a young player. I'm not seeing a star yet, but he could be a solid starter.

You’re the idiot. Steph and CP3 beat people off the dribble all the time. You are just a pompous ass that wants his predictions to be correct more than the Rockets to be good. I told you before the season started that Reed was going to struggle to get minutes and would probably spend some time in RGV. We’ll see who is right. Anyone watching the games has seen Sheppard’s lack of explosion and inability to shake his man. Almost everyone on the board acknowledges it except you. Sheppard’s place on this team is as a shooter. That is why he was drafted. If he can’t find a role shooting the basketball he will not be in an NBA rotation. That being said, I think he will a shooter, but he will never be a + PG and certainly not the starting Pg for this team.

Great post! Hope is that we can trade a few of these guys like Jabrari and Cam with picks for a legit star like Booker, Gia, etc. later in the year. None of our guys are total busts, just not stars and that is what we need to get to the next level.
