Reed is passing up on open threes because his confidence was broken from all of the crappy shooting done earlier. He will not get that confidence back until he goes to the G league and dominate. If he can do that.
what is in the water in houston these days that we draft all these "generational shooters" who forget they can shoot.
Cam is there because he's WAY behind everyone on the roster when it comes to the mental side of the game.... and just being a professional in general. The only thing RGV could offer Sheppard is playing time, and the Rockets seem to be doing a better job of getting Reed on the court lately so even that isn't needed
Why? Because he's chucked 29 shots in his last 3 games to score 30 points? I guess that's good to a certain type of basketball fan
Crazy, some of you are just bonkers. He is clearly overmatched and overwhelmed. * He can't drive to the rim without getting blocked. *Too shy to shoot because his release is too slow and the length/speed of defenders is too great. *Has a 42-inch vertical but doesn't rise much on his jump shot. Might as well be 5'10" and no vertical. * Now even his mid range is trash. In the G-lesgue he could try to adapt to the speed......being targeted defensively. Hope is not a plan.......Amen was much better when he went down to G-lesgue last year.
One in the same (poll). If it makes you feel better I did not like pick and he will struggle. ___________________ Ideally I would have tried moving back in the '23 draft from #4.....to......#6 & #11. 4 players I had pegged were: Cam Whitmore / Jarace Walker with #6 (if one available) and Dereck Lively / Jaime Jaquez with #11 (if you available) ---- In '24 I would have preferred to move back from #3..........to..........#4 & #8 the 4 players I had pegged were: Dalton Knecht / Devin Carter with #4 ( if available) and Zach Edey/ Kel'el Ware with #8 (if available) ---- Edey Don't want to hear about age thing, I've covered that ad nauseum. That's the battle cry why the weird and weak minded. I mentioned before the draft that all are back up material so it doesn't matter of you draft anyone of them #3 or #4. *Note: adding two rookies each year would max my quota for the team. Unless we draft Cooper Flagg or Ace Bailey......picks need to be used for top notch player(s) in trade at this point. Preferably a #1, #2, #3 scoring option(s). 3 & D players to match what Thunder, Celtics, Warriors, Mavs, Pacers are building.
Season is still young but 3.4 Pts, 1.1 Reb, 1.7 Ast, 43.3 FG% is not a stat of a 3rd pick. Not going to lie, with the amount of hype he was getting its not unreasonable to expect more. Hopefully he gets more mins for a better sample size.
Our best bet was to trade out of the draft altogether last year. Either for a vet shooter or a future draft pick, although it was reported that there wasn’t much interest from other teams. Virtually everyone knew this was the worst draft in ages.
