I might catch flack for this but from what I've seen most Dem voters don't give a **** about LGBTQ+ other than that they deserve to live and that they deserve to have rights and not be mistreated within the confines of our anti discriminatory laws and framework that's already in place. Anything beyond that? DNC trying to appeal too much to these fringe groups and they're losing socially conservative minorities and minorities that are suffering from the economic realities of the last four years. If I'm worried about my job, worried about my livelihood, I'm going to be put off if even half of the message from the DNC campaign is about social politics. I can't name too many other countries that are as socially progressive as the US currently is or at least was especially from Asian, Latin American, and African continents. Economically, not to say jumping the fence to Trump would be any better for some people (depends on the industry) but it probably played a large hand in depressing voter turnout. Kamala lost the popular vote. This should be a serious inflection point. I also don't think she had anything particularly wrong with how she handled her actual campaign other than that she might have been playing it way too safe. She is tied to an administration that was in charge during one of the worst inflationary episodes people have ever lived through -- doesn't matter that there isn't a magic wand people will tie that as a negative connotation to the Biden admin. She also had so little time to run her actual campaign. I liked her better than Hilary. The DNC failed liberals more than she did. Just my 2 cents, not trying to argue with anyone.

Democrats don't chose what people in certain media ecosystems what they believe Democrats run on. Do you know what "clip chimping" is? Well it's basically the modern form of how most Americans learn how the world works around them through their social media feeds. They learn about what their ideological opposition is campaigning on not from actually consuming content from those sources directly but rather being in their media ecosystem bubble through the filter of their parasocial influencer relationships and social media algorithms selectively spamming them certain narratives by "clip chimping". When it comes to the lgbtq+ issue, since Marriage equality under Obama, there hasn't been this new resurgence of lgbtq centered platforms within the Democrat party when running any election campaigns. This is going to sound like im dismissing your feelings of what reality is because I kinda am but The feeling that Democrats are forcing the issue on things like trans activism is a result of a successful operation by GOP and right wing strategists using money from guys like Theil and Musk to spam social media and shower influencers with money to spam the idea that the trans agenda is taking over society and that is all the Democrats care about. This has been a go to tactic by the right since social media became this dominant in our media ecosystem. Find some esoteric concepts, literature in some niche academic field at some graduate level courses in some university, reduce those esoteric concepts to its most bad faith version and spam them into social media and turn the issue into a large part of the American Zeitgeist. Ask yourself this. Are there any leftists on this message board? Then ask yourself this. How many threads about trans issues were created by right leaning posters vs left leaning posters?
