Lol pivot to tariffs was not what I expected In general tariffs have failed every time they've ever been tried in the past, but in particular the tariffs that have been discussed are basically going to raise costs for you and me $2-5k annually which is why most economists ( Democratic or Republican) generally hates them. But yeah the $3k transfer payment a year is going to suck - prices going to go way up.
Migrants = a euphemism for ILLEGAL aliens. Most are good people but all ILLEGAL aliens are breaking the law. Some of the people that were aloud to cross our borders unimpeded are not good people and have done some really bad things. I know the left really wants to grant every single one of them citizenship, good or bad, for the votes but that is a slap in the face to every single immigrant who came to the country legally and became a citizen.
Neither one of them came here illegally. There are claims they both at some point were working illegally being pushed by the left and there media sycophants that have very little credibility at this point. Both are legal citizens now. If they somehow did manage to slip through the system while doing illegal things, which I highly doubt given the dubious sources for the information, then that is just more proof the system needs to be reformed.

You are correct not all migrants are here illegally so my broad statement should have had some more context. The problem lies with the left and their sycophant media white-washing those that are illegal by calling them migrants. People on the left do not separate the illegal from the legal. I separate the legal and illegals but in a different manner than you. The legals are like my parents who were born into decent wealth in their country of origin to have a pathway to immigration because America's immigration policy heavily favors people with means. The illegals are ones who aren't usually born into any form of decent or moderate wealth and have little access to quality education and are desperate for some sort of income from labor and have no pathway to legal immigration outside of a lottery system that is a luck of the draw and even if you win its after like 10+ years of trying. And that's my problem with people like you. You people put MORAL weight into the label of illegal immigrants. That's why leftists use "migrants". It humanizes..... Humans.... But people who lack empathy skills want to put a moral value into being a illegal immigrant being paid under minimum wage to make sure your 2lbs of 80% lean ground beef chuck is 9 dollars instead of 16 dollars. For example, If you pay 25% tariffs on some chips from China, and put it in the intended final product and sell it to someone in Mexico or anywhere but here, you can file and get your tariffs back. You can also import, pay tariffs, sell here and use a third party via a non disclosure agreement and file an other business’s exports as long as it has the same base HS codes (not to be confused with HTS codes). Both businesses with in that situation. There’s a plethora of people making a lot of money just paper pushing between the CBP and businesses. Crazy huh?
