    Correct.

The Democrats pushed for college forgiveness - which is not necessarily a bad thing, they identified a problem and looked for a solution while the Republicans pursued tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. However, those that are not college educated still make up a big part of the USA - and they see Democrats pursue student loan forgiveness, they see Democrats pursue and fight for immigrants seeking refuge in the USA, they see Democrats push and fight for protections trans and gay people. They see the USA sending money to Ukraine.

Now - Trump isn't likely going to do much to help the working class, a lot of what he has suggested he cannot do or it would be a bad idea - but at least he acknowledges the blue collar Americans - he also mentions ideas I don't think will work (tariffs) but at least it is better than being ignored.

As President-elect Donald Trump readies to return to the Oval Office, U.S. retailers that depend on foreign suppliers are prepared to pass along the cost of his proposed import tariffs to consumers, potentially leading to higher prices for a range of products.

Americans stand to lose between $46 billion and $78 billion in spending power each year on products including apparel, toys, furniture, household appliances, footwear and travel goods due to the new tariffs, the National Retail Federation stated in findings released Monday.

"Retailers rely heavily on imported products and manufacturing components so that they can offer their customers a variety of products at affordable prices," NRF Vice President of Supply Chain and Customs Policy Jonathan Gold said in a statement. "A tariff is a tax paid by the U.S. importer, not a foreign country or the exporter. This tax ultimately comes out of consumers' pockets through higher prices."

if this does end up happening, I would not care one bit

Of course it will happen, but 50% of our population is too stupid to recognize how economics works and votes against what they most care about.

I'm not even sure what happens governance wise if a president elect is assassinated between the election and his inauguration

Damn. I hope this is another fake FBI entrapment thing and not a real assassination attempt from Iran.

Looking at this map, it's funny that I, of all people, live in one of the few blue dots lol.

    It was super close though.

Anyone who plans a assassination attempt on Trump I assume is in support of a surge in the maga movement. Trump isn't some intellectual powerhouse that has to be stopped through murder because he's that dangerous alive. He's dangerous because of the reasons people vote for him. Him dying doesn't remove those people. Killing him just strengthens their preconceived beliefs. And the type of people who have power and want the MAGA movement to succeed because they think it'll help their bottom line don't have any special empathy or love for Trump. So if Trump dying means the MAGA and Peter Theil CEO monarch movement accelerates and galvanizes even more I'm sure they'd love to do it.

You guys are still claiming the election was stolen. You're man won the election. Was the deep state too stupid to steal it a second time? It's unbelievable how gullible you are.

We didn't get enough illegals in to vote. The white race is safe for this time.

When it comes to cost of living, I don't really care about who is in office. Presidents don't run the economy. They don't got magic levers. Our legacy media institutions have conditioned us to evaluate presidents quarterly return at a time which is just not how governance works.

Who I vote for to be president is more based on understanding the president has two main weapons at his disposal: the presidential bully pulpit and command of federal law enforcement and national defense. These things I mentioned all can be weapons used to target minority groups, political or ideological opposition etc.

A president can use the institutions of defense and law enforcement along with the ability to accelerate cultural narratives amongst the citizenry from the bully pulpit.

President's don't have magic levers to automatically fix economies but presidents do influence nearly every aspect of our lives during their tenure, the decisions, actions and even words have great implications not only here in the U.S but around the world. Wars, tariffs, importation, exportations, immigration are all heavily impacted by the sitting president. Stock market, crypto and housing are also reliant on who holds office. I know you want to believe Trump will have nothing to do with a better economy but you are lying to yourself.... They way you usually do about nearly everything you can't squeeze into your made up narrative.

I'm confident what you and I mean by "economy" is quite different. I'm sure Trump will do anything in his power especially before mid terms and in 3 years to pump up economic numbers through the bully pulpit and executive orders.

But pumping up economic numbers for the next election means you are running a country without any care for things like....

The future of following generations or current children who are going to experience the repercussions of our actions today 30 years from now.

Repercussions? Like what? What could children 30 years from today actually be affected by? I see Kamala and Dem's creating more problems for our future generations than Trump and conservatives who by the way just so happen to still value family and traditional values that children thrive in.

I mean we are going beyond the scope of the current discussion. You want to get into lengthy debates about healthcare and education now?
